freydis Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 Funny, I haven't heard about this in the news.... This is why the BBC is a nifty news source.....heheheh
Lillylu29 Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 Dosent suprise me, their are tons of stuff wal-mart manages to keep out of the media...
ttogreh Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 WHAT KIND OF A CORPORATE CULTURE ACTUALLY THINKS THAT MAKING LIGHT OF AN EXPLOSION THAT INJURED A CHILD IS FUNNY?!?!?! Don't... shop... at... Wal-Mart.
Fierce Critter Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 OMFG - More and more reasons to despise that company.
SaGa Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 sam woltan(or what ever his last name is spelled) is probly rolling in his grave for what a muckery his company has become. its funny thou, the southpark and family guy episodes bashing walmart stores, simply classic
Angel of Death Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 OK...the part about them making fun of a poor kid that was badly burned is just fucked. The only other thing fucked up about this is the previous to this why the fuck do they care if one of the employees was in drag...it's not their life. IT'S NOT A DISTRACTION WHEN SOMEONE CROSS DRESSES AT WORK IT'S DISCRIMINATION WHEN PPL PUT THEM DOWN OR SINGLE THEM OUT FOR IT!!!!!!! I'm sorry I had to get that out.... THOSE BASTARDS
ttogreh Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 How the heck can you cross-dress at a Wal-Mart, any ways? Those uniforms are universally hideous.
Angel of Death Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 How the heck can you cross-dress at a Wal-Mart, any ways? Those uniforms are universally hideous. Not the point the point is ppl cross dress because they want to. It shouldn't be anyone else's business they are ppl 2 and singling them out like that is discrimination...Did you know transsexuals have to go through 1 year of whats called "the real-life test" meaning they have to live as if they were the other gender for that time? How do you think these ppl feel being singled out because they are doing whats right for them?
ttogreh Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 Transgender issues are a sphere of discussion in which I am woefully ignorant. I meant no disrespect. However, I would like some information regarding this case that you speak of. Were the persons wearing clothing of the opposite gender on the job, or in the privacy of their own home, or at an off-work location?

However, I would like some information regarding this case that you speak of. Were the persons wearing clothing of the opposite gender on the job, or in the privacy of their own home, or at an off-work location? Most would prefer to wear anywhere and be referred to as female not all however some are afraid to go outside their home because of assholes who are not supportive, it is a shame that someone should have to hide what they do and a bigger shame that ppl stoop low enough to put these ppl down or single them out. to be quite honest...my bf is a transexual and I love HER all the same. I am very proud that she is confident enough to go out dressed as a female. Once we were at a resteraunt and a waitress wouldn't wait on our table because of her that is sick and wrong. They are people too they have feelings too. IT'S PLAIN OUT WRONG TO INTERFERE IN ANOTHER PERSONS LIFE. If it's what makes them happy and you disagree with it....keep ur mouth shut cuz it's not your life it should NOT affect YOU. I am not trying to say you are disrespectful I'm saying it is wrong to put others down or discriminate someone for a choice they made for THEMSELVES.
TygerLili Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 Making fun of an accident is very uncool, but what does that have to do with managers dressing in drag? I realize a good percentage of Wal-mart's clientele is narrow-minded, homophobic, low-income America, who might find cross-dressing unsettling, but really, can't they at least separate the two thoughts?
Hellion Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 Wal-Mart just plain sucks,piss poor corporation.IMO.
jadnifer Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 This whole thing makes me ashamed of the fact that I worked at Wal-Mart. Everything that they said that Wal-mart was supposed to stand for. Sam Walton is rolling over in his grave after hearing about all of the mockery that his company has become. He never intended for it to be that way. First of all, it's sick and disgusting that they would laugh and make jokes about a child that was horribly burned in an explosion, but the question remains what does them having dressed in drag have anything to do with that? What I think it is is just a way to make them seem like they are lowly people and another way to put them down. It's sad what people stoop to to get others in trouble.
