NOTE: This is a picture of an actual striker, taken around 5pm today. I don't know how the hell he managed to stay out in the heat with that suit on. (it made it up to 78 degrees today, for all you out-of-towners)

Love my central air! I've never lived in an apartment that had it before now. It got Freezing when I turned it on today.

Also, we asked if we could take the picture, don't want to piss off the strikers, they've been out there for almost two months, they must be cranky.

LOL

On a more serious note, I'm sorry to hear that. They've been on strike for awhile now, it must be very stressful for everyone involved.

If he can afford a Darth Vader costume, he's making too much. Quick someone, cut their pay.

Am I missing something...why is he dressed in a Vader costume?

I didn't even know that the UAW was on strike. I hope that my dad doesn't get laid off because of this. He works for a factory that's UAW. Everyone keep your fingers crossed for him and everyone else that is affected by this.

It's all about the publicity. The more attention brought to the strike, the worse it looks upon the company. Although I'm not sure how much more attention can be brought to it, considering how long they've been striking for.

I honestly think the automakers want the UAW to strike every year. It's a period of time where they can avoid paying the unrealistically high wages. Truthfully, within the next 10 years- UAW may not have much sway anymore. They strike every year for something or another; that much press just makes them yesterday's news. There's a huge shortage of jobs in MI and the big 3 know it. Think about it.

They don't sell all the cars they can produce- they actually need the UAW to strike- it cuts labor costs and they don't have to shell out for vacations, etc.
