Current location? Ann Arbor (okay, 2 blocks north in Whitmore Lake... but everyone thinks its on the other side of the world lol)

Where from? Twin Cities, MN and went to highschool in Shelby Twp

Gender? Female... defintely aparent by the chick-butt lol

Work? Looking for a coffee shop or under-the-table job... know any??? I also have been a nanny for 10+ years

School? went to school to become a Montessori teacher. kept landing in the ER for dehydration that summer so missed too much and decided I couldnt do 14hour days at minimum wage! (at the time was $4.15/hr)

Kids? My three wonderful potbellied pigs and a skinny kitty

Married? yes- the the most wonderful man in the world, but he lets me flirt! lol

Single? didnt the above answer that? My roommate is! (shes gonna kill me lol)

Hobbies? Fundraising for potbellied pig sanctuaries, arts and crafts, fixing up and doing projects around the house, Im obsessed with my laptop and coffee shops and if they payed people for drinking too much tea and coffee and based their wage on how many times they pee- Id be super wealthy -teehee ;-)

How Did You Find DGN? GothicRavenGoddess is my roommie and she suggested I join when I asked her to post about my up-coming fundraiser. I KNOW YOU WANT TO HELP!!!!

nope, the hubby is a Warcraft freak. I swear he needs a job lol. Hes a great guy and it'd be fun to get people together sometime, but hes allergic to smoke so cant go to city club. Hes really perverted and a real smart ass. but hes super inteligent and has all this useless knowledge so he can usually insilt someoen and they have no idea what he is saying lol. He got kicked out of Cedar point water park for telling some kid his mama should have swollowed lol

oh yeah, he does... sounds like one of those queekie toys, sometimes (but not as loud... he grunts too). but when he's not getting his way, its LOUD!! and kinda annoying... he's so CUTE! and LOVES his tummy rub! Pickle does too! they are so damn cute when they aren't as big as Muta. He's adorable, too! but in his own big way... lol

yeah, too bad they don't stay Vinnie or Pickle sized. (they aren't that big at all, but Vinnie's still a baby, and Pickle is well, he's just small stature) so yeah... lol

if we can get the whole benefit thing going, you will get to meet Muta. He's a certified therapy animal and can go anywhere his owner takes him, as long as she keeps his papers on her, and can present them...

No, potbellied pigs dont stay small. tehy are smaller than dogs in weight, so Vinnie our piglet is about 6 months old and is about 30lbs. we suspect he'll be about 70-80 when hes done growing. Muta is 165 right now. he was 200lbs but hes on a diet we were misinformed by the vet how much he should weigh. But Pickle Monster... he will be over 200lbs in GREAT SHAPE when hes done growing. hes about 60-70lbs now and not even a year old!!! and hes in good health, not fat (except when he gets soemthing yummy from the neighbors... then he waddles lol)

Alot of people think they stay small. Unfortunately that is partly because of the breeders. Alot of backyard breeders will tell people 40-50lbs. Ive even seen 30lbs in the newspaper. your average potbellied pig IN GOOD SHAPE is 80-100lbs. but most people over-feed them and they get big and fat. thats why we are doing the fundraiser. The sanctuary I help took in lots of pigs that got "too big" for thier owners to keep or they didnt have enouhg time for them. Pigs are so smart so they are VERY high mainteance. this sanctuary has opver 150 pet pigs on only 2 acres... al;ong with other animals too. all because thier owners didnt want them. its a really sad story that happens time and time again. so please let anyone you know might want to help. we are going to start a forward so people can get it going to people around here they know. but no volunteers as of yet. lets hope for the best!!!

Muta is freakin *huge*! So, you finally found a pig-friendly place to live?

yeah, Moo is a big boy! he was actually full gorwn when you met him. he didnt grow much more and hes actually lost weight. He was about 200lbs when you met him... now hes down to 165. Went to a sanctuary evenrt with him in Philly last summer and he was 185 and the owner said that if he didnt lose weight hed have a heart attack. we are shooting for 125lbs. but he hasnt lost much lately because Jeff wotn stop giving him carots lol

We moved here right after the westland incident. we didnt have to pay a deposit and we could move in with just paying the portion of rent for the rest of the month. we've been here a year as of yesterday. we LOVE IT!!! we've been on our own here except we invoted GothicRavenGoddess to move in a few weeks ago because she was having some rough times. I think its working out pretty well! hard to keep up with her tho lol. oh, and we have two more pigs too. rescued Pickle from being euthenized. he took ALOT of training because he had never been pet or fed by hand and had very liuttle interaction with people when we got him at 4months old. and Vinnie is the piglet of our hearts. hes a very cuddly little boy and is always trying to climb in your lap lol he got dumped on us this last winter when I was trying to find a home for him for his owners, and they showed up and dumped him on us. probably because he wasnt neutered. he was a very naughty stinky little boy!!
