Naturally fantasies count...they make us what we want to be not who we have to be.

Im trying desperately to get over a crush Ive had for awhile.

OK its a bit more than a crush, but I never thought a little crush would blossom and tear things down but here I am

BEWARE of crushes for even the littlest crush can become a full blown paradigm of dysfunction, if youre not careful, especially when the crush is mutual

I'm pretty sure I answered here already... but yes I have a DGN crush.. she knows she's my DGN crush, because I call her my crush.. so often that half the time I don't even remember her name. :blushing

If the crush is mutual, isn't that a good thing?

Oddly enough, I've had the same thing happen to me. A mutual crush is great. It's wonderous. It's beautiful.

But it's a real kick in the ass when no matter how much both of you want to be together, it's never going to happen. Ever.

You can hope and pray and fantasize about it all you want. You can think about how cute your names sound together and how you wouldn't mind doing his laundry and stepmothering his child and how wonderful it would be to fall asleep in each others arms every night. Shit like that can run through your mind all day long.

But the truth is: you'll never be together. Ever. Your heart is going to get ripped out and shattered into a million peices, and it's all your own fault because you had a crush on this guy. You're going to be bitter and jaded because you know that everyone pales in comparison to him. You're probably going to die cold and lonely, just like your ex said you would.

So no, mutual crushes aren't always a good thing.

Gosh, I am sorry to hear this. :tear Are you absolutely positive that there is no chance for it to work? I can see if he/she is married or something, but other things like distance can be overcome.

Are you reading my mind? I'm pretty much done with crushes. They require hope.

oooooohhhhh now this is a very honest and forthright statement.

As a married man, yet still a man, expecially a man who has more female friends than male, a crush is a natural, yet a dangerous thing. and even more dangerous when its mutual.

I love my wife.

So I leave my crushes out in the rain to get watered down.

Ok maybe i am indeed :nut BUT I have crushes that have lasted decades and I won't let those go. Something good came from them and the ones I have now also bring about some awesome feelings as long as i don't get stingy.

I have my 'girl' moments but overall it's like fantasies. They are healthy unless you obsess over them and harm YOURSELF :wink

I have no crushes. I am a pillar of strength and monogamy.

And if you believe that... I also have a bridge to sell you.
