looking for tools

I'm just looking for used mechanic's tool sets, was wondering if you guys could keep your eyes peeled in newspapers and such for anyone selling their used tools, preferrably brand names like Craftsman, Snap-On, Matco, and Mac..

Tools are fuckin expensive as hell brand new so I'm looking to save some cash on used tools. I know some mechanics sell off their sets after they retire so if you could just keep an eye out, or if you know where to look, that'd be great. Otherwise I'm looking at spending 5,000 dollars (very easily) on a decent set of tools once I graduate.

Also fyi once I get the hell out of Wyoming I'd be willing to do side work for DGN'ers for a decent price.. I plan on specializing in transmissions but once I graduate I'll be certified to do HVAC work, and basically any work your car may need (aside from painting). I am attending the nations #1 automotive school, after all.

My friends dad owns a body shop in er... that city where Fermi is would imagine he might know some people or retired guys , widdows with tools they have no use for etc. So im asking for a "Mechanics Toolset" ? Thats the proper thing to call it? I assume theres different sizes and such.

Yeah just old automotive tools.. Sockets, wrenches, lots and lots of other various automotive specialty tools.

ya might try posting your plea on Craigslist for where you are located as well as for the detriot area. Also might be worth looking at citys between here and there so perhaps you can pick the tools up on your trips back n forth. just a thought.
