thats why they charge for it now.

last year nitzer ebb headlined the main stage, that alone is worth $50, let alone $20.

im not a paxahau supporter and i too liked it better when it was free, but the festival has to pay for itself somehow.

The offcial name is DEMF. The Movement is the production co that hosts it. But I will be downt here all weekend so if anyone would like to meet up. I wonder if they'll have the CC stage this year. They havn't had it in a while.

The second day of DEMF at CC Fusion 4 will be happening as an OFFICAL afterparty for DEMF. I'm helping E Dubb and King James promote/host

The reason they started chargin is because when it was free the people running it would fuck over the DJs and not pay them anything and Detroit was losing out on Money.

actually i read up quiet a bit on this subject

you have to figure when you run a festivel of this magnatude all the people you have to pay.

Permits, electricity needed to run be it for vendors or speakers or lighting, then rigging, vendors themselves have to get paid to be braught in on top of the profits they rake in, security, medical staff, bringing the musicians in, food and beverages for all the people needed for volunteers, people to run the equipment that are not volunteers, then advertising, sanitation costs, and so on and soforth

for them to run this festival or ANY like it for free is just absurd, derrick may HAD to sell the event off to paxhau to make it work becouse he was loosing so much money the first two years they started charging went off to pay the last year they didnt charge on top of themselves.....

and this year IS going to be probably the best one in a long time!

e dubb is djing at fusion, but the actual event is thrown by dps (which is 2 people,netiher of which

there are many different types of techno

and they cater to different types , try it out you might go

if you dont dig basslines this is not the festival you want to attend

yes we are hosting the four area event at the City Club this year (City Club, Leland Ballroom, Lab & Studio). We have received sponsership from Paxahau to become a Official DEMF Afterparty & our bringing in some of the biggest talent in the country.

Event is on the second day of DEMF, Sunday 5/25, & we are running from 9pm-11am the next day.
