Destroit Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 Never been to DEMF. Someone that cant stand Techno but loves electro/ebm/industrial enjoy this? electro/ebm/industrial = techno I guess REAL industrial isn't necessarily techno, but how often does that happen now-a-days? Who's playing this year, anyway? Anyone important? I had NO idea Nitzer played last year, I should have gone. I also missed out on Bad Boy Bill and I think Richie Hawtin was there too, if I'm not mistaken.
Tryp Posted May 22, 2008 Author Posted May 22, 2008 Darkcube is playing. Go to www.demf.com for list lineup.
nilhil_glory Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 I had NO idea Nitzer played last year, i thought that was 2 years ago

livininxtcgoth Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 nitzer ebb played 2 years ago, not last year, but it definitely was an AMAZING set and it was well worth it. i got kicked out last year at the end of the last day because "my wristband was too loose" mind you i have ridiculously thin ballerina arms and wrists and hands--I have to wear kids watches cuz adult ones are too big. i spent $40 on a weekend pass and got kicked out right before the artists i wanted to see cuz the people working at the festival put my wristband on too loose. whole bunch of B.S. and really, part of the reason it's so expensive now is that the amount of people going has decreased so much. when the festival was free there were at least 800,000 people that would go (don't quote me exactly but you CAN find the numbers and they're staggering) and from all over the world (met ppl from New Zealand in 2004) and now that you have to pay (even the first year when it was only $10) the numbers were not quite half that. so really, if they had done it right when they first started off, charging even $5 or $8 no one would have thought it was that big of a deal since it was what they were used to and they'd be making MORE money charging 800,000 people $8 instead of charging 250,000 people $25 poor marketing for an awesome event unfortunately. we all think we deserve everything for free, but then who's supposed to pay for us then? i'll be there today (sunday) and monday. oontz oontz bitch
Destroit Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 i thought that was 2 years ago FUCK! WTF! I seriously just typed WTF faster than I ever have before... BECAUSE I WAS THERE ALL THREE DAYS TWO YEARS AGO... *cries in coffee* What...did they play at the Noir stage or something?
freydis Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 Dude I know from another board is supposed to be DJing..... DJ Tacopunch. I'd have gone if I weren't moving.
CandyQuackenbush Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 nitzer ebb played 2 years ago, not last year, but it definitely was an AMAZING set and it was well worth it. Nitzer Ebb fucking rocked. I had so much fun that year. Back on to topic.... I spent most of yesterday there. It was fun. I hung out with Function13 all day, and he had his Slavic Friend Danny, and our buddy Jay, and his little geeky friend Jacob. I must say, if you are going to go to ANY after party, go to Blue. OMFG. The basement is 1,000 times better sounding than CC and if any of you remember how big my house isn't, that's the size of the basement at Blue. I danced from 4pm til 4am today.
Tryp Posted May 29, 2008 Author Posted May 29, 2008 DEMF was amazing this year. Ran into a lot of DGN members while I was passing out cards. I went all three days only went Monday for a few hours though. I'm still recovering from the weekend. Now I can't wait for MEMF and the Final WEMF is this year. I had an awesome weekend. Made about $300 also. =)
