Nienna Posted November 15, 2004 Posted November 15, 2004 Friday rocked! Great music and alot of people. The place was pretty full and the new parking drama didn't even really affect us. Saturday was significantly lamer. The music sucked, it sounded like they blew one of the few speakers that actually works, and the crowd was thinner. We did manage to park on the street for free though.
Ginevra Posted November 16, 2004 Posted November 16, 2004 Parking drama? Please fill us in for those of us that don't get to CC often?
SomeDanGuy Posted November 17, 2004 Posted November 17, 2004 Apparently the nearby parking garage is now closed. And I think some guy said that it was going to be torn down or something? In any case, it won't be open for at least a year :-/
Nienna Posted November 17, 2004 Posted November 17, 2004 It's not as bad as all that. Th garage is closed indefinately. They said 6 months to 1 year. It is not being torn down. The security guys will let you park in there for $5.00 or some weed. Most are now parking in the CC lot, which is always full, or in the lot behind it on first. They are charging $3.00 to park in this lot. We have had some luck parking on the street so far and no breakins yet! Try to street park near that back lot and it's pretty safe because the guys who collect the $$ for the lot are standing around. It does still suck though.
nodrew Posted November 17, 2004 Posted November 17, 2004 It's closed do to safety violations. People may have noticed some of the extra supports that had been added in recent months. These were there because the structure is collapsing. The city must have finally shut it down.
Nienna Posted November 18, 2004 Posted November 18, 2004 yeah.. they said it needed major repairs. That's also why we wern't allowed to park on the roof anymore. I imagine they'll fix it though. That structure brings in alot of $$ with daytime business parking at inflated rates and CC parking on weekends.

Oh well, so much for snow cover during winter.
Ginevra Posted November 19, 2004 Posted November 19, 2004 Hmm . . . perhaps someone got chunked with a bit of falling concrete and they finally deemed it unsafe
