So... seriously. If legal ownership of guns is a part of our culture, how can something like this be prevented? Should people submit to a psychological exam? Are we stuck with the risk that unstable people are always going to have access?

I can not respect my neighbor... still doesn't make me want to kill him over a PS3. That's seriously fucked up.

I was speaking more like respecting someone's property so you don't fuck with it without first asking permission, respecting firearms as a dangerous tool only to be used for self-defense situations, and respecting someone's life and health so you won't even think about harming someone for any reason except self preservation.

I've had some neighbors who were douches before and have very little respect for them but I'd attempt rational solutions before resorting to anything extreme.
