*whips both of you*....DOWN!!!!...HIYA!!!!!!

back on to the TOPIC....

If something would be considered naturally beautiful, then why can it not be considered art? Why is man the only one thats is supposedly capable of this?

Man is not alone...We walk with GOD...(I only use that word 'cause it's easy)

Hunhee... the problem with sticking to just the Math when it comes to the Big Bang, the expansion and teh contraction of the Universe is that the Math fails to explain it.

Let just assume the Big Bang did in fact happen. That means the totallity of everythign ws compressed into a Super particle in perfect balance. It had to be, by the Math, in perfect balance to exists at all. That begs teh question... If it was in perfect balance... Why did it explode?

Math takes over again after the explosion.... for a bit... then there is that rapid expansion of energy/mass... evenly throughout all that "is" the Universe. Which is where Math fails to explain thigns again. Math says matter/energy would be spread evenly through out all the Universe... which begs question #2 Why did Stars/Galaxys and other things form? Something had to "stir the pot" so that some matter was closser together and gravity could kick in to pull stuff together.

The Math fails us.

much like many things else....but Gaf...would you consider it "art"?

HiYa Gaf...

Can you make "the failing of MATH" into art?

(I'm pullin' for ya)

It's not the math that fails us, it's the knowledge we have that fails us.

And no GFP, as the definition stands now, I still cannot call it art.. I call it beauty, but not art. If you were to take a picture of it, I'd call the picture of it art.

So, the similarity in our view is that "The Bang" is/was beautiful.

Our points of view differ in whether or not IT is art, respectively...

Why?

(I wanna' keep going with this exploration into our group mind...I really do!) :jamin

Well, I guess I'm sticking to the actual definition of the word art. I personally (how *I* feel) would consider something naturally made art (in my own loose definition of what I would consider art). The sun, the trees, the flowers, things like that on an emotional level effect me and I think they're pretty.

But to actually say this is ART in the definition of the word ART, it doesn't work. ART specifically says it NEEDS a creator. If you believe in a creator, then yes, you can call it art all you want, because you've now defined who you felt 'created' the thing we're discussing. I don't have that same pretense of beliefs, so to me I cannot call the thing art.

EDIT TO ADD:

So, here lies where the perception and interpretation and own personal values/feelings make this your own judgment call. That's what makes art so subjective. One person may look at it and say.."junk/trash/crap" others will say.. WOW

Thanx...I did not want to put words into your mouth..(so to type)...

Grand Architect of the Universe, (G.A.O.T.U. shorthand)

That is the Title given GOD by Masonic Scholars, to put it in a form that is palatable to most spiritualists.

I like the term because it implies no sex, no race, no shape; and is bereft of the things that represent to me the idiosyncratic "wrongness" that most Spiritual paths push on us...

Do you define an "universal intelligence"?

At all?

If not, "Chaotic Chance"?

ie. I simply look at death as A STEP...some may see it as an END.

I am following you? Yah!?

How about Chaotic Order?

How about Chaotic Order?

Ah...HA..

So you see an Order in Chaos...with no intelligence behind it?

OR, can you not prove nor disprove the existence of said intelligence?.

absolutely none.. and I wouldn't call that art either. ;)

that's cool...

(see kids...debate CAN lead to an impasse and not be an argument)

Thanx for going SOOO far off topic to prove this hunhee...

(((HUGS)))

PEACE...I gotta' go watch "Crystal Skulls" finaly...

Chaos is an illusion. It doesn't exist. If you see Chaos, your not looking close enough to see the underlying Order.

BTW, yes, I would call it art. Why? Something created it. Something "outside" of the Universe created this Universe. Something outside of the reach of all laws of physics.

I'm not saying it was God, just that it was something. There is a long list of things in physics that dont make any sense at all when looked at. They all seem to break every law of physics... every theory in physics... they all point to "something other". It's why many physicists believe in God.
