GothicRavenGoddess (3) Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 But he's not nakey! I am trying to come up w/ a different name for him tho... the breeder that is giving him to us (for free) named him Sinatra. That's a cool name and all, but i don't like it for a cat... My fiance has a cat named Chains, who had kittens, and he is keeping a pure white one for me, who i named Ghost.... here's the description the lady put for the cat. Sinatra is about 8 months old. He's sort of between a suede and a velvet coat, black PD. He loves to walk on a leash and is very friendly! So yeah.... here are a few names that i have been playing w/ (keep in mind, names like midnight, black magick, shit like that, isn't gonna fly): ~Grave Yard ~Cometary ~Torture ~Chaos (i want names long those lines) any suggestions? or opinion on names already listed? Oh yes, he will be arriving in a few weeks!!! I'm so excited! (My roommates are also getting a kitty... tho me thinks its gonna be a white Cornish Rex, I'm not too sure. Both are going to be fixed, so no babies, sorry, folks. )
EnViOuSPoPpEt Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 Omg he's so adorable ^_^... English Japanese black kuroi, burakku, kuromeru, kuro I think that you should name him something fierce in a different language ^_^ the above are just some ideas. Congrats on the new baby!!!
GothicRavenGoddess (3) Posted May 21, 2008 Author Posted May 21, 2008 i don't know what to name him, but i want something that i can actually pronounce...lol
EnViOuSPoPpEt Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 LoL sorry .. I shouldn't assume because it's easy for me it's easy for everyone
GothicRavenGoddess (3) Posted May 21, 2008 Author Posted May 21, 2008 well, once i hear them pronounced, i don't think it would be a problem, but i don't want a name to reference his color, i want a name inspired by it.
GothicRavenGoddess (3) Posted May 21, 2008 Author Posted May 21, 2008 ****UPDATE**** My Kitty should be here next weekend!!! WOOHOO!!!!
CandyQuackenbush Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 German names Schwarze Nacht means Black Night Mitternacht means Midnight Kätzchen poo poo bumst means Kitty poo poo fuck. Just helping!
GothicRavenGoddess (3) Posted May 22, 2008 Author Posted May 22, 2008 *****UPDATE***** I have settled on the name Torture
Oh_My_Goth Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 I think changing a creatures name after they already had a name is improper..... Most people may think animals don't notice, but they do.
GothicRavenGoddess (3) Posted May 22, 2008 Author Posted May 22, 2008 i do, too, but i don't like that name for a cat... AND think of it this way.. his name was just for records... The lady giving the cats away bred too many, got overwhelmed, and has to get rid of alot of animals... SO its not a one on one, w/ the names. they may notice, but these cats haven't had much exposure w/ their names... the name was mostly for records, and keeping track of who...

GothicRavenGoddess (3) Posted May 23, 2008 Author Posted May 23, 2008 I may have settled on a name, but im still torn about it... i want something cool, and something out of the ordinary... like i said, not referencing his color, but inspired by it. ooo, what about Misfit? lol someone help me out here! (i still got a whole week to think about this! )
GothicRavenGoddess (3) Posted May 24, 2008 Author Posted May 24, 2008 what makes you say that? you are silly
Destroit Posted May 24, 2008 Posted May 24, 2008 well, once i hear them pronounced, i don't think it would be a problem, but i don't want a name to reference his color, i want a name inspired by it. Japanese is pretty much pronounced how it's written, within a few kinda exceptions. Hmmm...something morbid...he's a boy...? Name him Necro Hmmm...naw, I dunno, I'll think of something then come back . I've already had a couple beers waiting for some friends to come over and DDR, so I'ma little fuzzy
Hellion Posted May 24, 2008 Posted May 24, 2008 what makes you say that? you are silly Because I like to see glowing eyes of many different colors of kitty eyes its so mysterious and spooky.
GothicRavenGoddess (3) Posted May 31, 2008 Author Posted May 31, 2008 Okay, i mean it this time. I have settled on Ryuu, its Kanji for Dragon. If you saw his eyes, and saw how he interacts, you'd see that the name suits him. He's so beautiful.. Plus, when i said it out loud, he looked right at me... So.... that's his name... He's so much more beautiful than i EVER imagined!!!
pomba gira Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 Okay, i mean it this time. I have settled on Ryuu, its Kanji for Dragon. I think that's perfect. It's also a "good" sound for a cat... high-pitched chirpy or trilling sounds have positive connotations in "cat talk", while low growly sounds are reserved for negative communications. "Ryu" as it's pronounced in Nihongo has always reminded me of that "chrruuut" greeting sound that kitties make.
