i always get made fun of because my name is dora and there nothing i can do about it my mom name me it for a reason and a good reason 2.

my mom was pregneat with me and my granda ma died so they named me after her......

and i dont really like it but i love my granda ma even no i never met her in real life...

i wish i did.... i wish she woodnt of died so soon i never got to meet my granda ma and it makes me sad..... i dont want my name but then i do.... i dont know what to do

No one ever likes there name too often, so don't feel guilty of that. You should hear mine, lol. My grandmother had a big hand in naming me and I could still flog her with a wet noodle for it. I hope you learn to like your name, it is pretty. I mean at least it's smooth... it flows. You could maybe to a variation of Dora if you really wanted to?

I love the name name Dora i thinks its beautiful as well. I have a co worker named dora and i love her because no matter how sad i am she can always crack me up and i need more people like her in my life. So thanks for reminding me of her.

1. As you get older and are surrounded by more mature people, most of them will realize that it's really lame-ass to make fun of someone's name and will stop doing it.

2. Why not just come up with a nickname and have people call you that, or if you like your middle name start going by that? Then you can keep your legal name and not have to use it everyday.

Dora is a beautiful old name that was considered mainstreamly popular in the Edwardian and Victorian ages and so it usually is a family name now. (Like in your case.) It's wonderful because it gives this sense of antiquity and elegance. I put it in with other similar names like Grace, Lilly, Madeline, Francis, and Lenore. Be proud! LOL I'm named after a plant.
