freydis Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Raspberries. Cucumber rolls. Mochi! Chicken yakitori.... shrimp tempura.... broasted chicken! Good, sharp cheddar cheese... hmm....
pomba gira Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 i like gator to it's o.k. i have not had shark yet but i'm looking foward to sampeling many exotic tropical species. it matters a great deal how they are prepared. fresh never frozen skin removed before cooking no bones in the meat. Sharks yearinate through there skin and when they die there bowels release. so you have to skin them within five minutes of there death. that could be precieved as an evolutionary defense mechanism designed to divert predetors. i hear the shark is better then the grouper. The few times I've eaten shark it wasn't anything to write home about... basic large-predator fish like swordfish or marlin, but with kind of a gamy overtone to it. It wasn't bad, just nothing really special. Maybe it wasn't fresh enough... or maybe they didn't soak it in milk as I've heard you're supposed to do (to get the ammonia out). Who knows.
Brian4wheels Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Hands down my all out fave is tuna casserole, witrhout peas. I always get it on my birthday.
jynxxxedangel Posted August 27, 2008 Author Posted August 27, 2008 Guernsey Farm Dairy Chocolate Milk.. I think there's a hole in this carton!
JaneDead Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 other things i love: avocados portobello mushrooms tomatoes potatoes especially with caramelized vidalia onions dark chocolate- as of this year. i disliked all chocolate prior to that pumpkin pie eggs, not sure if i added this one before when i replied to the thread berries- blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, etc and other various fruit like kiwi, pineapple, mandarin oranges but not watermelon. that is the only fruit i do NOT like. eggplant and when i want meat, which is not often, i like bbq ribs, medium rare steak, corned beef, roast beef and lamb only.
jynxxxedangel Posted September 4, 2008 Author Posted September 4, 2008 I absolutely love an Ethiopian dish called "tiré kitfo." It's very similar to kibbeh nyeh. I wish I knew an Ethiopian cook, so I could learn to chop and spice this raw meat dish properly.
StormKnight (1) Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 aside from the family which has peaches, apricots, plums (tried every fruit in the family I can get my hands on, and they all make me violently ill), as well as canned papaya, I will eat about anything. things that I really like: -sushi -salted foods -italian
jynxxxedangel Posted September 6, 2008 Author Posted September 6, 2008 Reese's Peanut Butter Whoppers malted milk candy.. These things are just WRONG. Especially when I am on my last nerve, and the anxiety eating kicks in. Someone get them away from me, please.
jynxxxedangel Posted February 5, 2009 Author Posted February 5, 2009 Another necro'd thread. Tell us your favourite foods!!!!!!

jynxxxedangel Posted February 5, 2009 Author Posted February 5, 2009 (edited) Giant steaks...with lots of fat for flavor...and wrap it in bacon please OOOOH YEAH!!! A nice, two inch thick, well-marbled Wagyu Delmonico (club cut), with lots of fat around the edges-- to get all good and crispy on the grill.. Edited February 5, 2009 by jynxxxedangel
taysteewonderbunny Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 Some of my favorite foods, grouped by type, as they came to mind: Meat--rare filet mignon (black & blue, actually), sashimi (haven't had any I didn't like yet), stewed kid (goat meat, but it's so fun to say), pan-seared tuna (raw in the middle), mahi mahi, lamb, BACON!, chicken hearts, chicken gizzards, chicken breast (let's just say I like the whole damn chicken), turkey, rabbit, turtle, alligator, venison, any kind of roast. Oh, and arthropods like lobster, crab, crawfish, shrimp, and prawn. Oh, and mussels, clams, oysters, too. Don't like anchovies, smelt, or headcheese. Roasted lamb and wedding cake! Best combination ever. So very nice. Cheese--all of them, especially sharp, bitey ones and delicate nutty ones. (I like my cheese like I like my people, I guess.) Vegetables--dark, bitter greens (mustard, kale, spinach) and less bitter greens (lettuces, bok choy), cabbages and cabbage like foods, cooked (especially stewed) or raw, broccoli, green beans, legumes (all kinds), tomatoes (fruits, really), cucumber, okra, all kinds of squash!, eggplants, most root vegetables, potatoes, sweet potatoes, yams, but not cauliflower. I love the way asparagus tastes, but I hate the way it smells, especially when it is secreted later. Yech! Favorite veggie: brussel sprouts (despite the same smell factor as asparagus, idk why.) Like, but not favorites (tend to be too sweet): carrots, bell peppers. Like spicy peppers, but small tolerance, yet I kind of like the feel of my mucous membranes being frazzled and corroded. Fruits--yes, most of them, in small quantities, especially berries and citrus. Beverages--red wine, beer, COFFEE, tea, water, gin Desserts--dark chocolates, cake w/o icing, ice creams (in small doses), red bean soup, Little Debbie, iced latte (no syrups, two tsps of sugar), gingerbread, ginger sorbet, peanut ginger chews, small chewy candies, steamed milk, black licorice Breads--dark, crusty, chewy Other--rice, gum Nope. Not much has changed. I can add crystallized ginger and marzipan to the desserts/sweets list. I have also found powdered agave nectar to be a tasty sweetener--it's delicious! And I should say for fruits that I specifically adore mangoes (all varieties), pomegranates and clementines. In the dairy category, cottage cheese is very good.
jynxxxedangel Posted February 5, 2009 Author Posted February 5, 2009 A ripe, fresh, musky, still-warm-from-the-sun, late-summer Brandywine tomato-- sprinkled with sea salt and freshly-ground pepper, and a bit of balsamico di Modena, if I have it around.
pomba gira Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 MOVIE POPCORN!! I went to a movie for the first time in a couple years last week... I forgot how absolutely scrumptious that stuff is. Nothing like it... they must mix some kind of opiate into the butter goo.
TygerLili Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 (edited) Cheese (I put cheese on everything) Lasagne Mushrooms Tomatoes Cucumbers Fresh pineapple Pasta Salads with balsamic vinegarette dressing Thai food Veggie enchiladas (but only the way I make them, restaurants always use veggies I don't like in Mexican food, like broccoli or carrots) Not technically foods, but I'd have a hard time going without Coca Cola and Chai Tea to drink. the eternal Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 I am a bit of a girl, so when I get depressed, I don't drink, I eat. Here are some of my favorite comfort foods (in pictures since it's a shame to read words and not see foods) And, of course, the best comfort food of all...
StormKnight (1) Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Great choices, especially the last one Eternal. Dammit...now I am hungry in more ways than one. *grumbles as he walks off to grab food*
