I also have trouble believing in things that I cannot see or see any proof in... I have never seen a ghost, nor seen any proof that any exist in any form... except the ones that live in our minds and memories that we are responsible for.

You may think I am a nut, but I have seen many ghosts throughout my life.....

I can not prove anything to you, I don't have pics or eerie video or odd noises on tape.....

I know what I see and have seen.....We all have different gifts, and that is one of mine.....

Okay, my statement wasn't saying that people who do see ghosts are nuts.. I just think things are explainable scientifically and logically and not supernaturally. I want to believe in magic, and mystery, I would love to believe that there's an afterlife, I would definitely love to believe in "true love" and "Happily ever after" but it just doesn't seem too probable, that's all I'm getting at, at least to me.

I can't prove to you that they don't; just like you can't prove to me that they do, nor is the burden of proof rested upon the cynically minded.

I should add a few things.

I believe there is an afterlife.

Not only that, but I believe in heaven, and hell, and purgatory. God exists. So do demons.

And I believe what I DO here on earth will have an impact on what happens once I leave here. And it will be an impact that will last FOREVER. And forever is a very, very long time.

I'm Catholic, see. And as such, I believe in an afterlife.

I believe I had better get my ass to work if I want the afterlife to be as pleasant as this one.

And I'm not a recovering Catholic, or a former Catholic. I am not someone-who's-mom-dragged-her-to-church-but-hasn't-been-in-ages-but-still-calls-herself-Catholic. I am not a cafeteria Catholic, picking and choosing whatever dogma is convenient and dropping whatever does not suit my lifestyle.

I am just a plain Catholic.

Which means I believe in all of the fun stuff that goes along with it, too

While I'm no scientist, I do believe in energy~ that it never ceases, and continually transforms. All matter is made up of infinitely smaller substances constantly in motion, creating energy. When we die, I can either say that all the energy stops and returns to the earth, in some way, as fodder, or transcends this earthly realm, transforming into something else. If I believe in reincarnation, then I have to believe all life reincarnates.... from a blade of grass, to a tiny ant, to a human being. This, actually, is harder for me to believe. The universe is not a closed system, so to say that our energies continually come back to this world for more just doesn't make any sense to me. I don't believe the universe runs on the same flow of energy it always has.

Though I can't say anything with certainty, I'm more on the side that when we die, that's it~our bodies decompose. Our brains, which hold all that we are, cease to function, shrivel up and breakdown. Our thoughts and emotions fade into nothingness. For that part of me that remains on the fence, I am still open to the idea that our energies go on, I just don't necessarily believe that we come back for more in another life form.

What I do believe with more certainty that anything.......

Life itself will survive us all.

As one who slow dances with death on a regular basis, I can honestly say that the spirit lives on. I am not affraid to die, and in fact, welcome it as a new adventure.

Having been privledged to be with loved ones at their time of departing, I feel in my heart and soul, that we merely move into a different frequency.

I have a scientific mind as well as a spiritual side.....

I totally understand why someone would not believe in something they could not see or feel.....

Myself, I just happen to be a person that sees and can feel the presence of 'something'.....

Sometime we sound crazy or illogical because it is difficult to prove what we see.....

I've had a lot of experiences dating back to a very early age that leave no doubt in my mind that there are realms where we live on after physical death. All very subjective, but good enough for me.
