Oh agreed. My roomie got to spend the night on the couch with my cat watching Hidalgo on On Demand...... MUCH better than moderately good Chinese in A2 with a wet washcloth. Meh.

yes, but a date holds an inherent *possibility* of finding someone... sitting at home does not.

This will bring the thunder down from some women but this is how most guys view dating ~ Dating is easier on women because it's expected that men take care of everything and I have found that some, not all, women just like to date as much as they can so they can satisfy their out on the town needs. Some have led guys to think they have a chance at making it last but have no intention of taking it beyond "dating". So it leaves a bitter taste for a lot of guys. I think if dating were different then those kind of women wouldn't be so quick to wanna go out a lot. For myself, I'd rather find out after the first few dates rather than keep a hopless thing going. Life is too short, either you know your interested or your not. Again ~ I'm so damn black and white on these things.

I'd also like to add that I don't think it's fair for some to beat around the bush about how they feel. I'm very straight forward about my thoughts and feelings. I expect the same and repect others for the same. It shouldn't be so difficult to be honest about how you feel.

I think the idea behind the lukewarm date is that you've already figured out that it's not worth pursing. Ergo, time at home can be spent more productively than waiting for the end of the date.

Ummmm I didn't look? *L* Downtown... Maybe off Main street?? Yellow awning. (Oh wait.. all Chinese places have yellow awnings...) It wasn't bad Chinese... All I have to say about that date. *L*

Upon gentle rejection, he did give up and slink away. Not before telling me my look was "too goth" and I'd be soooo much prettier without "all that makeup and black clothes". GAH!

And yes, he did want a second date, and yes, I almost laughed.
