I've been to several pow-wows, and I met Litefoot at one in Ann Arbor in 2004. He's a Native American rapper and was also in the movie "Indian in the Cupboard." I don't listen to his music since I don't like rap, but hey, it was still neat meeting him and getting his autograph.

My kids are close with Birthday Masacre and got pics with them the other day at a concert at Harpos...yes I let them go to Harpos let the beatings begin.

It was one of the highlights of their wee lives so I was not going to stand in their way plus security is good there I told them to go early to get a spot on the lot and it was almost full already!

One of the band members has a crush on thing 1 (who doesn't though) and they got free tickets for themselves and a buddy hell they didn't even care about the other 2 bands

Hmmmm..let me see..

For me to post them all, this thread would be unnecessarily long.

But, I will relate one of my more interesting experiences.

I was nearly kidnapped by Jon Dette once, when Testament and Slayer were playing at Harpo's. He BEGGED me to ride on with the bands to Toledo. I would have gone, but my friend Tyler was with me and she didn't want to do anything spontaneous. :(

We had spent the entire wee hours just sitting around on the bus yakking and drinking whisky. I enjoyed his company very much-- he was very sweet and a true gentleman. We had a good laugh over how he'd expected me to be just some groupie the roadies had hauled in, and then we ended up having so much in common!

He even gave me his number, and told me to call him if I ever wanted to visit him in San Diego. I only spoke to him about three times after that, and then we lost touch when I changed cells.

I should hit him up on MySpace and see if he remembers me..I see he has a page. :)

His new band RAWKSSSSS!!!!! http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea...iendid=99552393

..you met cEvin Key? You asshole...

I was going to run up to him after the the concert last June...but I was really high for the first time in AWHILE and weed makes me paranoid to be social sometimes...so I got scared. I've never been more mad at a joint in my LIFE...

Oh well...next time...

And btw...has anyone ever met Ogre? Any tips on how to meet the guy? Meeting cEvin Key is farily easy from what I've heard...meeting Ogre is a bit more of a challenge.

But if I die without meeting Ogre at some point in my life...my entire existance will have been unfufilled and pointless . So I'm just curious.

Jim Carroll. Saw him at the Magic Stick back in the '90s, and wanted to get some stuff signed after. Instead of the usual setup with the artist at a table & a line of folks waiting, they had him in this tiny room with two couches, and let 4 people in at a time. My then-hubby had just seen the film "Basquiat", and asked JC if he had known the guy. And he launches into all these wild stories about Basquiat. Apparently the film portrayal was a bit, um, flattering to say the least. He did think David Bowie did a killer job of playing Andy Warhol. We were in there for a good 20 minutes... the club staff finally rousted us out 'cos other people were waiting. Best thing about it, there was no sense that "this is a celebrity, OMG"... it was like he was just some dude we met in a bar telling all these cool stories.

My friends and I met the members from Greenday at Burger King after they put out the album Dookie. The lead singer Billy Joe was a jerk.

I saw Dave Grohl and nodded to him walking down the street.

Liza Minelli picked me out of the audience and brought me on stage.

That is all I can remember.

Wow. Thats all I can say. I love his poem "sure", though it often makes me sad, I would love to sit and pick his brain.
