I dont have it with me at work now, but I can look when I get home.

For one of my stocking stuffers last year, I was given a book on Michigan birds ( I also got one on Michigan plants), it has the picture and name.

What kind of green? Small, med, large sized bird?

Probably a male Ruby-Throated Hummingbird. :)

Short beak wouldn't be a hummingbird... maybe someone's escaped (and doomed) lovebird?

Although escaped birds do have happy endings sometimes... my stepdad's charming cockatiel flew down out of nowhere & landed on a girl's head at a church event. He called it his Bird from Heaven.

Yeah, I think Pomba's right..it sounds like a pet bird that has gotten loose.

It could also be a migrating species, as well.

He LOVED that bird. It was strange 'cos he was never one for pets... when I lived w/them for a few months after my accident, my cat had to live elsewhere. But he just doted on Bird.
