Gay friendly shows

Someone told me the odd couple was first going to be broadcast as a gay friendly show but at the time producers didn't think it would fly with the American public.

I also heard Mary Tyler Moore, her g/f was to be Rhoada but again, they didn't think the American public was ready....

Of coarse we have some now, like Will and Grace which I love...

But what about My favorite Martian? Anyone hear if that one was 'an in the closet gay sitcom' as well?

Oh yah I forgot! There was an episode where it was QUITE obvious her and the lil blonde were into each other....

That's so funny because I actually had this debate with another DGNer a few weeks ago. My younger brothers and I were Xena and Hercules junkies back in the day, and we ALWAYS talked about how gay Eolis seemed. I have a pretty good "gay-dar," and I really got that vibe off of him.

...although all you need to see is season #3 (they've had 5 so far). Season #4 sucked so bad that I didn't even bother with any episodes in season #5.

Shoooot "Roseanne" was gay friendly. Leon and his boyfriend were always playing poker with Dan, they were at parties and weddings. And didn't Roseanne kiss another girl in the show? Roseanne was awesome!
