Religiously themed license plates?

Recommended Posts

Make them with every other religious belief (Including atheism) and I'll be fine with it.

Actually... I won't. Plates are getting unrecognizable anymore. Isn't that part of the point?

o0o0 I want a Church of the FSM on my license plate.. plz!!!!

I say no because they're ugly and tacky, and for the reason Marc state above.

One could make a much stronger case for them if they at least included some of the other major religions: Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism. But they didn't, and they won't, because they're stupid.

The only thing that remains to be seen is whether they will actually 'get away with it'.

I've seen some of these tho, from other states, not Michigan, and it looks like to me they're getting away with it.. or do you mean.. for the long haul?

I thought people had bumper stickers and other such ridiculous stuff like that to show off their religious shit..why they gotta be hittin' the plates?

While it's not religious, per se - did you know you can get Freemason license plates in Michigan?

What would the atheism license plate say?

'Nuh-uh'?

And for goodness sake, do we really need more stuff on our license plates?

lets make one that says Wiccan, and then drive it thru Utah just for grins.

My point exactly.

I oppose this for a different reason... Have you seen how many specialty Lic. Plates Florida has? It's stupid.

I got curious and searched Google Images for 'florida license plates'....that's insanity.

It's a major revenue source though. Florida does not have state income tax.

I liked it when for YEARS we only had a dark blue background and white print on our license plates, and now we have all this other crap in Michigan. I think for state unity, we should stick to the plain colours again.

Individuality should be your car, or your bumper stickers or whatever, NOT something state funded/run.

Lic. plates are not state funded. hence them costing you so much.

I find it silly...that bumper stickers are no longer good enough...I realize you can't put them on a leased car...still silly.

I think it's cheesy looking, and I'd never get one, even if I was a Christian, but if someone else wants one, it's not hurting me. It's no worse than the stupid "Jesus is my co-pilot" bumper stickers and all that crap.

It's a fair point about making them for the other religions, but I imagine they would commission something if the demand were there.

I have a car magnet that says K2P2 and you'd think a magnet instead of a sticker would solve EVERYTHING, but that's when you find out that your car magnet won't stick to your car, because your car isn't actually made of metal.

Ack!!

Mine is religiously themed...

In a sense.

I usually snicker when I see anything 'christian' and wonder how they got so dilusional...no one is going to save you from yourself.

But thats my view and I keep it to myself.

I am sure part of why I get tailgated and harrassed is my obvious NON Christain liscence plate.

thats exactly how Florida's system works. I can't remember howmany people you have to have wiliing to buy one.. but there is a minimum threshold of people that have to sign up to buy one before they will enact a law to create it.
