DarkChylde Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 A wave of violence against emo kids is spreading across Mexico, with the music fans being attacked by mobs in the street, and further threats of large-scale attacks in Tijuana during the forthcoming Feria de San Marcos, the annual national fair. The attacks are reportedly coming from metal, punk and rockabilly music fans who dislike the emo look and attitude, according to LA Weekly’s Daniel Hernandez. The violent attacks are partly being blamed on an on-air rant by ‘Televisa’ TV personality Kristoff who recently called emo ‘fucking bullshit’. Kristoff subsequently called for an end to the violence but it is thought he make take the fall if the government blames Televisa for the trouble. On March 7 around 800 young people in the city of Querataro amassed against emos in the city resulting in many violent attacks, and a week later a similar incident occurred in Mexico City. Emos in both cities responded to the attacks by marching peacefully through the center of the cities. Meanwhile, Chile is also seeing a wave of violence against emo, with TV station Chilevision showing an attack on a group of PokEMOns by skinheads. Emo’s in Chile are known as PokEMOns. --By our New York staff. Heres another article too. Police raise vigilance after 'emos' incident By Daniel Borunda / El Paso Times Article Launched: 03/28/2008 12:00:00 AM MDT A confrontation in the upscale Las Misiones mall between teenage cliques of "emos" and "punks" on Wednesday night has Juárez police officials stepping in and asking for tolerance. The mall incident, which police said might have been sparked by an exchange of words, might have been a copycat of highly publicized attacks on emos by mobs in Queretaro and Mexico City. Juárez public safety secretary Guillermo Prieto Quintana in a news statement on Thursday said the police anti-gang unit would increase patrols at teen hangouts to discourage problems. Prieto Quintana said that Mexico's northern border has traditionally been tolerant of all types of expressions, and he urged teens to respect others' right to self-expression. The emo is a style and musical offshoot of punk music. Emos often sport dark hair covering part of their faces, dark clothing and an emotional outlook that has been described by some as effeminate, which might have fueled the mob attacks in the macho culture of Mexico. The attacks on emos in Mexico have gained international attention, with television news airing videos filmed by the punch-throwing mobs chanting, "Kill the emos." On Thursday, Time magazine's Web site had a report titled "Mexico's Emo-Bashing Problem."
liljrockbunny Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 I have heard of "punch an emo" day, but never actually witnesses/heard anything actually occurring. Hate is hate anyway you slice it. It's just too bad that people can't move past their differences, or at the very least have a more civil way of expressing their opinions.
SaGa Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 out of anything to riot or hate, its the quirky emotional emos. emo guys need to be cracked like crank cracks m & ms in other words either get out of the closet about your apperent homosexuality, or realize that fashion isnt everything most men do agree if a emo girl does it right, it can be very attractive. heh metalheads just hate scenesters/post hardcore kids more then emo kids. cause they end up looking stupid ninja dancing in front of us. and im sorry when your throwing your fists out, and high kicking, two inches right in front of myface. there is no reason why i shouldnt hate you reminds me of any show black dahlia murder was playing at, cause they played with metal band. hardcore kids always came and danced during there set then leave

I'm quirky... I'm emotional... Should I be beaten? I think you need to examine your personal flaws before you go looking to attack a whole sub-culture. EMO kids wear a combo of post-punk/goth with an albeit "metro-sexual" edge...when I was a kid they called that "a clean shave"... so saga...what are you gonna' do when your out of EMO's? You gonna' find another group to persecute? What about after that? ANOTHER? & ANOTHER!? Hate breeds hate... ...and the double standard is fucking appalling...way to cave it! In my understanding...EMO is also a kind of music... it is a horrible whining noise... like unto your post!

Hellion Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Just invite some emo's to a Slayer concert, and see how long they last,LOL!!
Fin Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 This argument just pales in comparison to the Smooth Jazz vs. Polka violence. TEH HORROR!
DarkChylde Posted August 8, 2008 Author Posted August 8, 2008 emo guys need to be cracked like crank cracks m & m's. Lmao if the m&m's were emos that crank cracks at my house that be great. this is my message to any of those hispanic central and south american punk/ metalheads that might stumble across thisGET EM...KICK THEIR ASS...BEAT THOSE LILY LIVERED, HOT TOPIC BULLSHYT BITCHES INTO A BLOODY PULP!!!...just don't touch Atreyu and MCR....cuz their actually really fucking good bands...BUT BEAT THE FUCK OUT OF EVERYONE ELSE!!!! I cant stand emo's as much as you but however beating the crap out of them just simply gives them what they want. However what really hurts them is simply ignoring them, trust me, it really does work LOL. But on the other hand if they do show up at a good band concert (such as cradle of filth or type-o-negative) then yes thats when there asking to get there little pussy ass's beat! The reason they would desserve to get there ass kicked for that matter is because there invading OUR territory. Long as they stay on there side of the fence and stick with going to there little whiny pussy band concerts then they have nothing to worry about.
Restless Oblivion Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 Why can't we all just get along for f's sake, this kind of bullshit really angers me
DarkChylde Posted August 9, 2008 Author Posted August 9, 2008 Why can't we all just get along for f's sake, this kind of bullshit really angers me Have you met a emo in person before?
Restless Oblivion Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 Erm yes I meet them all the time because they breed like rabbits lmao But we can tease and laugh at them behind their back - but getting all violent on their arses is a step too far. I get so much abuse and harassment from trendies in England by just walking down the street wearing black - I don't want to be doing the same to some other subculture just because they listen to shit music and do whatever emos do lmao

Why can't we all just get along for f's sake, this kind of bullshit really angers me I second this motion!!! Thanks Rev and RO for voicing a bit of reason. I personally dislike the fad as much, if not more, than anyone else here, but why does it have to be taken to violence? And everyone wonders why there's violence in the middle east all the time! We create it over F***ING MUSIC and FASHION, while they at least have religious fervor sometimes. Come on!! Music and fashion, aka pop culture, IS NOT a reason to get violent! If someone blows up your car, maybe, but THIS!? WTF.....
Restless Oblivion Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 Emos are cute... lets start a new attitude
Msterbeau Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 I'm emo but I'm too old to be emo and we call it something else.
DarkChylde Posted August 9, 2008 Author Posted August 9, 2008 Yes I can agree that no violence shouldnt be envolved. However I do believe that the emo crap should go though. Well, I guess I could somewhat understand if its a form of phase that a teenager would go through in there teen years (alot of teens always like to talk about committing suicide). But for grown adults there is no excuse. Its sickening to always threatening to kill yourself just to draw attention and gets a hard-on from depression or the whole "I CUT MYSELF TO FEEL ALIVE" also not to mention they purposely enjoy making things complicated such as throwing mix feelings at the other, like accusing him/her of something really stupid out of the blue and then runs away, cry like a little bitch and throws in "my chemical romance" in the stereo. I guess all im trying to say here is emos are just bunch of insecure whiny bitch's that I grow sick and tired of dealing with. The only MAIN reason why I dont believe in conflicting violence on them is because it just gives them what they want. It has nothing to do with the music or the medea (which there music sucks). Its them trying to push there whiny crap on us. Yes, people do have the right to be of who they want. But I also believe that certain things should just be kept to thy self! lmao.
SaGa Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 i think i just dislike more so the metrosexual part to it. overly fashioned people just seems to unnatural ps rev i didnt say i hated them. a few issues of personal judgement on the culture and how it represents itself, that is if where talking about modern day emo... im not bashing old school emo. there is a rift between the two. if i counted of the 2 music cultures i do hate thou first gangsters, second hardcore kids but thats all cause most of that culture iv had runins with them where they initiated violent remarks and its happend most of the time. both worship violence in a way, courage crew being the example of hardcore kids and what could happen. now what emo are we talking about,,, cause i was speaking of the newer emo/scenester not the 80s/erly 90s emo
SaGa Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 What's THAT? the style that came out of the dc hardcore scene. rites of springs and what not, that being the older style. the new emo/scenester seems to be overly done up and sold like that. the core values of the music where fine and dandy back when it started, now its just about fitting the look of it. so the new emos seems more of a fashion culture then anything else.
SomeDanGuy Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 Yeesh, when did this kind of hatred and violence seep into the board? I mean, sure, everyone likes making fun of emo kids but honestly wishing violence on a wussy subculture? And for what? Different fashion and music than what you prefer? Disappointing.
