I thought it totally sucked this year. The music is getting kinda lame, no one was dancing...it was all kids just standing around the stage. The energy was just .... off. I actually thought the young guys around the stage were more ready to start slam dancing. Who does that at a techno festival? It used to be like a big free rave. Now it just sucks.

Doubt we will be going next yr.

We went on sunday, it was my self, lestat, and my friend heather. When we got there we met up with another friend who has been to like ever single tech fest, and then bam we were amongst a huge crowd of people, some i knew some i was about to meet. Over all I think the amount of people that was in our own personal group made it alot of fun. If it was Just The original three i too think i might have left.

I do think that since we had to pay this year alot of the experiences that i heard so much about were not available. Like the bums, its allways a good time when ya got a few good natured bums running around, i am sure alot of the true music fans were not able to go as alot of peopel have been broke this year or just plain turned off by the idea of having to pay.

I had a good time, i do how ever feel that i missed out on alot because they charged.

The first DEMF was great but i feel like things became progressively worse with each following year's festival. Last i attended was 2003 and by that point the majority of the crowd were all tourists from like some place in Ohio similar to where Gummo was set and most people were underage too and also wearing very silly hats and swinging around glow-sticks (woo, trippy!). -The music itself seems to have lost something since the early part of the decade and with only a choice between maybe an $8 pint of either Miller or Bud, and the $25 entrance fee this year i decided i'd allow the city to stick the whole thing up thier asses once again.

I went with a friend and my daughters. We had a reasonably good time. I wasn't particularly impressed with the music either. The girls, on the other hand had a blast... my little one taught the break-dancers a thing or two... :woot:

:grin it was my first year at techfest, I went on monday. Not alot of people in the pit but me and my friends made it fun. Ever since techfest im interested in getting into more techno..someone name some good dj's.

i didnt get to go this year.. i worked all weekend..

AND, i must say i was shocked to hear it wasnt free...?!?!?!

its always been free, right?

I didnt bother going, me and some dgn'ers went to tracy's party instead which was fun.

excellent show.

the main thing i missed was the underground stage in the glass door room. great mc's in past years.

it has been free, up until this year. however, the show was run very poorly in the past (financially), so they started charging. however, i don't know where else you can find a 4 stage, 12 hour party for only $10. and as for the expensive beer, that show is byo as far as i'm concerned. the security there sucks.

Yeah security was real lax, they did not search any one who came in with me. I also knew of people who had there own refreshments with them.

next year i am taking my own everything, the worst they are going to do is make me take it back to my car, no biggie.
