Homicidalheathen Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 ...oral sex. Woman charged in sex sting gets probation TROY — A woman initially charged with prostitution after U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow’s husband said he paid the woman $150 for oral sex received six months probation by pleading to a lesser charge of trespassing. The case received attention when Stabenow’s husband, Tom Athans, was identified through arrest reports obtained under the Freedom of Information Act as someone seen entering, then leaving the Residence Inn in Troy Feb. 26. Athans was questioned then released by police after he said he paid $150 for oral sex from a woman he contacted online on Craigslist. Alycia Lorraine Martin, 21, of Westland, was arraigned on sex charges. Athans was not charged and did not testify or appear in court during Martin’s proceedings. Martin was not a registered guest at the Residence Inn, according to hotel employees who testified. Martin had requested sentencing under the Holmes Youthful Trainee Act guidelines. Under those guidelines, available for offenders ages 17-21, after successful completion of probation, the charge would not appear on Martin’s public record. Troy City Attorney Lori Grigg Bluhm said that 52/4 District Court Judge William Bolle granted Martin permission to leave the state to attend her father’s wedding. Martin’s attorney, Frank Cusumano Jr., could not be reached for comment. — Terry Oparka http://www.gwu.edu/~nsarchiv/nsa/foia.html http://www.gwu.edu/~nsarchiv/nsa/foia/guide.html

Gaf The Horse With Tears Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 You do realize that the Freedom of Information was designed to do just this kind of thing. It gives us the Right, as citizen, to know all public information was ask to. It creates a more open government which hinders graft and corruption. It has nothing to do with catching terrorists.
