Fin Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 I sometimes return to this video for inspiration. With so much negative, disturbing news in the press, I always hunger for stories that actually inspire courage, not fear--love, not derision. I cried like a baby the first time I watched it. It is a video of the Hoyt's, a father-&-son triathlete "team." I am always moved by the father's continual life-message to his son, "I will not leave you behind. No matter what." Furthermore, as a triathlon competitor let me tell you--this is even harder than it looks. For what it's worth, I hope it gives you a little bit of hope today.
ManicQueen Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 I love that video, those two truely are an inspiration. Here's one, kinda explains a little more.
pomba gira Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 I've seen the billboard of them, even just that small glimpse of their story is inspiring. BTW fin, there actually is a magazine devoted to stories about people making positive change in the world. Not just smarmy warm-fuzzy "chicken soup" stories, but people and organizations who are actually addressing the root causes of all the terrible stuff we hear so much about... like Heifer International and Solar Circle. Unfortunately I can't recall the magazine title... they sent me a subscription offer a while back but I couldn't afford it.
