Oh_My_Goth Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 According to the Myth Busters, Alaska has the highest percentage of people that walk to work.....
jynxxxedangel Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 That's right..and there's actually still good-paying work in Alaska..and a high ratio of men as compared to women. ..and my favorite part-- no flatlanders! Anchorage or Skagway sounds even better than Carson City right now!
Gaf The Horse With Tears Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Alsaka also has the highest percent per capita of pot smokers.
SaGa Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Alsaka also has the highest percent per capita of pot smokers. pot smokers, but mostly men.... thats a toughie..
hunhee Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 My parents are in Alaska right now as we speak, have been there 1 month, and 2 more months to go. They absolutely LOVE it. They went on a cruise a year and a half ago, and now they're just touring around in their Avalanche.
Destroit Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 I've always thought it would be interesting to move there for a minute. Don't they even give you a big tax refund just for living there? That's what I've heard. On the other hand, I don't know if I could handle six months of daylight and then six months of darkness.
Gaf The Horse With Tears Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 um Chernobyl.. Not all of Alaska is in the Arctic circle... The longest it is either dark or light in most of Alaska is about 17 hours a day. The very northern regions it's a bit longer, but no one lives there.

Living in total darkness for six months...there's nothing gothier than that!!
jynxxxedangel Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Alaska is beautiful, and the people there are great. I traveled there back in late '90-early '91, to help clean up the Valdez tanker spill. I was there for a total of two months and two weeks. I really didn't want to leave, but my feet were itching! I then made my way to Carson City, and Las Vegas, and ended up staying in Nevada for two years. How the bloody 'ell did I end up back HERE? Search me.
