Gaf The Horse With Tears Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 So, it seems we have a few others that like wild Mushrooms. Morels are my favorite and I know a few good places to find them. I also like Popal Jacks and Coral mushrooms. If I find one and it's not gone to spore, a Giant puffball is a damn good meal. Here are some of mine and a few pics I have taken while out shrooming. Popal Jack Coral Mushroom... my camera refuse to focus on it. Shaggy Mane... these are really good, but you don;t actually eat the mushroom. you have to catch them when they look almost like a puff ball sticking out of the ground.
freydis Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 One of these days, I will get around to trying a few different types of mushrooms. Ive really only eaten a few common ones, and they are nummy.
DarkChylde Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 I dunno about shrooming, last time I did that I got lost in the woods thought I was in "never land".
Rev.Reverence Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 I dunno about shrooming, last time I did that I got lost in the woods thought I was in "never land". I told you not to eat the spotted ones....
DarkChylde Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 I told you not to eat the spotted ones.... Really? I thought they would make me bigger like mario.
Hellion Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Also avoid the "Angel of Death" mushrooms very toxic, but magic shrooms are fun.

jynxxxedangel Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Here is a Hen-Of-The-Woods I found last autumn, near Wolverine Lake. It was growing on the roots beneath a dead cherry tree, in my employer's yard. This thing was HUGE-- about 1 1/2' X 1'! I let it go to spore, rather than harvesting it. Hopefully, my lack of action will have created more of these mushrooms to gather in the years to come.
tanuki1985 Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 I hit my head on a brick, then a red and white mushroom popped out. I ate it and I was suddenly twice as big as I was before. Is this normal?
jynxxxedangel Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 This is known as the rare One-Up Amanita mushroom. Nice find! Please share your mushrooming location, Tanuki..
tanuki1985 Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 I also found a green and white one, and when I ate it, I heard this weird sound effect. I wonder what happened? Jynxxxedangel, I won't disclose the name of my dealer...
