I think I am being to hate the out doors. I am forever being stung, poked, or bit by something. It's just not safe out there. :yucky:

Heh... you could start a club with my wife Rayne.... she feels the same way

I'll join! Every bug within a 10 mile radius has to sting/bite me. Plus I get sun poisoning and therefore hate sunny days.

I like the outdoors and I think they like me.... but I don't know, I have been wrong before in that department :sofa:

Nature has something against me ... I swear.

Yeah sun burn and bug bites who needs them!

Bugs don't bother me that much unless it's a bug that I have never come in contact with. I have built up a tolerance for most oftheones I used to be allergic too. The rest... I'm working on.

the great outdoors takes time getting used to.

its the great concrete block i'm not used to

You have fair skin. That's a very lovable trait. It's hard to blame the mosquitoes for desiring you so much. :secret:

Me too. I have burnt about 30 times this summer ... and painful everytime. I have had a tan since May ... but burn over it. If I use sunscreen, I usually burn worse. It has something to do with my Anemia. My skin is soooo light, caused by my Anemia.

Also, mosquitos aren't supposed to like my blood because of the Anemia ... but I'm the one who gets bit up the worst.

It's not your fault.

The outdoors attacked first.

As my aunt always said 'Humans have no business in the woods. Who ever heard of such a thing, people in the woods? Since when did people go into the woods? We belong other places - like Somerset, and the Four Seasons.'

You should have HEARD her lose her mind when we were at a wine tasting and someone started talking about how we have a common ancestor with the apes. She wasn't having any of that nonsense. Don't worry - someone else mentioned we were made from dirt, and she was equally appalled.

So, the lady asked 'If we're not descended from apes, and we're not created from the soil of the earth, where, exactly, DID we come from?'

She took a sip of her chardonnay and said 'Nordstrom's'

She wasn't kidding.

She's part of a very radical, small, and well-dressed religious cult.

If anyone hates mosquitoes, it should be this person, whom most of us know as a fellow DGNer. These are his shins and feet, after the DGN Camping Trip. This has to be the most mosquito bites per-square-inch on a human body I have ever seen!

P.S. I also saw a tent-full of the drunkest mosquitoes I've ever seen, that morning! :p

I personally love the outdoors (except for how it mistreats my wife)....

I LOVE hiking... mountains, desert, streams, rivers.... seeing the animals, the insects.... just give me water, trailmix, and good bug spray and send me off, and I am a HAPPY man.

I just need to make sure that my wife has plenty of race track, airconditioning, and interesting places to shop.... and we will be fine.

Load up on vitamin B before you go camping. They hate that.

I like the outdoors myself. Kinda hard to surf/snorkle indoors. And there are other things that are fun outdoors. *innocent whistling*

My skin type is rigged for sunlight (Hawaiian, go fig.) I have only been really badly burnt (more than 2 days of pain) twice in my life. In winter and times when I get no sun on the skin, I start to get a green tint to my skin, looking like Kermit the Frog or Mr. Spock.

As for the bugs, the B vitamins I have heard of, but the one I usually do is eat garlic. It's an old ranger trick (taught to me by an old Ranger.) And while the bugs may bite, I don't get cover from head to toe anymore as a mosquito buffet.

I hear ya. Camping is not as fun as it used to be...I got poison ivy and tons of bites this year...my uncle had lime disease from a dear tick AND shingles at the same time...

And it keeps the women away too! Bonus! Oh, wait... :p

The last time I went on a picnic, I loved it. A wasp bit off a bit of my turkey sandwich to feed her larvae. I loved watching her jaws work. And the lichen on one rock was particularily beautiful. I like the outdoors. I'm just not very well adapted to it.

*twacks head* So THAT's whats doing it. :p

Ah well, there are worse things to do in the outdoors. Try walking around in a chem-wargear suit in 90 degree heat and 50% humidity...ugh
