I'm sure Mattel wouldn't care if not for the fact that Bratz are soundly thrashing Barbie in the sales department.

I was more intrigued by the stories about girls mutilating Barbies, though... mainly that anyone thinks this is some new trend. Didn't everyone used to pull the heads off their Barbies, hang them, make them viciously fight each other, etc? Me & my cousins did, and I bet we were far from the only ones.

My sister and I heard the story of the french revolution when we were little and so we would play 'viva la france!' ALL the time. One person would hold babrie and the other would chop off her head with a ruler.

It was quite fun.

I also tried to dry barbie's hair with a blowdryer once.

Her head melted.

I thought it was SO kewl.

I loathe Bratz dolls. They have creepy big eyes.

I love the fact that they thought people would confuse the bratz dolls for a barbie...because the head 3 sized to large for the body and the overly trashy clothes wouldn't clue in people.

By the time I stopped playing with dolls, none of my barbies had heads.
