Like I have been forced to wall off too much too quickly lately. That my damage control measures are at limit.

Like my normal methods of venting (and the only ones that work,) are not available to me at all.

Frustrated, old, and more worn out than I should be.

Like the wrong person who tries contact with me will be as uncomfortable as driving hot spikes through me.

Now, after an e-mail received this morning, even more of the above. :rant: :wallbash:

Very very sad. The woman I took care of for two years, and whom I loved as my own grandmother, passed last Friday. I just got the news.

I'm devastated that I wasn't there for her, in her last moments.

I can empathize. Whey my great-aunt/surrogate grandmother passed, I didn't make it in time for the end. All I could do was close her eyes, wash her and dress her in a nice gown so my mom wouldn't have to see her in the mess the EMTs left her (not blaming them, they did their job). It's some comfort that I helped care for her in her final months here, and that her last words to me were to thank me.
