Darus313 Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Completely ignore your thoughts on the morality of illegal downloading before you answer this. Is there any conceivable way it could be stopped? Nope cannot be stopped.. Long live napster... D p.s - westsiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiideeeeeeeee........
graverobber Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 The coinciding of stopping illegal music downloading is synchronized and equally caused by the same factor that would stop musical composition, musical performance, fun, enjoyment of any kind, and the necessary word of mouth that gives musical artists enough exposure. The real question being - can downloading HORRIBLE music be stopped?? my answer, only if you beat your kids enough
Gaf The Horse With Tears Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Yes it can. Packet sniffing and dropping.
SaGa Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 technology could stop it with consequences to false judgement. and it whouldnt be 100% it just whould be more smaller network communities that trade there albums to the members. and many torrent servers are outside the us. ie the pirate bay. so it be a international effort to stop it completely but to stop it with the politics in motion, no. many bands are seeing the illegal downloading as a huge promotional tool sure the groups that are household names hate it, cause they have been promoted up the ass. but many undergrounds, indie artists are thriving more out of downloading. heck i think about 2/3 of the bands iv seen i whouldnt have seen if i didnt d/l music. and got hooked on the band. but yes we have comcast known to send fake packets to mess up various torrents. and ip tracking on the big ones. mostly movies that just came out, or a game that has like 500 seeds and twice the ammount of leechers
