Dead is Dead....

I disagree.. (oh wait, wrong thread?)

Miracle Max: Whoo-hoo-hoo, look who knows so much. It just so happens that your friend here is only MOSTLY dead. There's a big difference between mostly dead and all dead. Mostly dead is slightly alive. With all dead, well, with all dead there's usually only one thing you can do.

Inigo Montoya: What's that?

Miracle Max: Go through his clothes and look for loose change.

who knows. we cant even believe infinity exsists. so how can we believe in a soul. or soul dimension. we cant comprehend things without a start and finish. point a to point b. faith is a hard thing to grasp when everyones looking for hard data on everything. and the whole blind faith that could be wrong fear

Most humans have trouble handling two basic concepts. Things that are infinite, and things that are not....

I mean you see the way most people feel about death and the universe....

OK so you tell someone that there dead and thats it.... they are usually like "No that can't be it, there has to be something more!" You tell someone you go to this happy/sad place forever and ever.... they are like "Well that is too long!"

The gospel according to Restless Oblivion.............

For those who don't want to read the full gospel - We never die, but our physical body does.

On this plane of existance our soul energy possesses the physical matter and interacts with this world through it in the form of a physical body. As we all know the body has a limited life span, and when it's time's up it dies on us. But that could be debatable - because perhaps the body dies when the soul has had enough on this plane? lol

So at that point in time our soul energy returns to the collective soul energy - i.e. God, universe, Allah, etc etc

HOWEVER, I would like to point out that in fact we were never actually seperated from the collective soul energy in the first place - but the restraints of the physical body that we are in and the fact that most people don't know how to free themselves from it's boundaries give us the false impression that we are seperate entities to everything else that possesses a soul essence that is around us.

So because we are all one and the same, we are the I as well as the we, we are god and god is us..... the answer to your question is we never die. We are eternal, infinite and immortal. We are energy and if you remember your physics lectures - energy cannot be destroyed but it can be transformed.

I am a carbon-based creature, therefore, I am infinite physically-- see the Munch quote in my signature.

Every word I've ever breathed is transmuted into the air that will be breathed and spoken by generations of others.

Every noteworthy thing I have ever done will be whispered in fable by one of the distant grandchildren of my peers.

Nothing really dies. It merely changes form, and the history of its life changes hands.

hey id rather we dont go anywhere when we die. if we end up evolving to pure energy in a billion years. whould we be the same as a robot. alive but without emotion? as being alive that long, emotion whould eventually be so supressed it whouldnt exsist. we whould just exsist. able to make change. but why whould we want to. with no emotion to make change and already perfect enough, what whould be our goal. to be a god and entertain ourselfs with lesser lifeforms?

Indeed... (I have said this before)... I have practiced non existence for countless billions of years before I existed and didn't seem to mind, why would afterwards be any different?

perhaps its all a perspective on time and reality, and being self-aware in the human form pretty much dampers all of that perspective to what our brain can see, not comprehend. but see. and since we cant see infinity as where restricted bye time and biological restrictions. we simply have to have faith it exsists. without really seeing infinity in the light of those who where self-aware with no origin or death.

I have no recollection of a previous existence... Perhaps if a soul exits then it does in some fashion transfer to elsewhere or a new owner... but I think it's all academic. This life is the one that matters to the current consciousness, and when it's done, it's done. I think all preparations for an afterlife at the expense of the hear and now are wasted energy.
