kidney stones

Yesterday my son, who goes by the name of Nightmare Deathseeker here, had an attact of kidney stones. He's doing better today, but yesterday did not start out good for him. Almost as soon as he woke up, he was felled by excruciating pain. Thank God it didn't hit him on Tuesday because my family & I (without our son) were still on the train coming home from Colorado where we had been for a week visiting my hubby's dad & stepmom. My hubby took A.J. to the ER where he had to stay for five hours just to pass the first one. He managed to pass the second one a while after he got home. He still has one more, but, it's not bothering him. For now. For those of you who have never had kidney stones, I can tell you from personal experience that it's no fun. I had them at 19 & I still remember how painful they were. Even childbirth pain doesn't compare to the pain of kidney stones. I was joking with my son, telling him "welcome to the kidney stone club". LOL He said "fuck that, you can have that club".

Just imagine labor pains, while experiencing the worst bout of flu you've ever had. Then add passing a burr through your ureters and urethra to the mix..sweating and shaking like a junkie going through the jonze.. Oh yeah. Good times. :p

I suffered from a really bad cold during the last trimester of my pregnancy with said son, and let me tell ya, coughing during contractions is NOT my idea of fun.
