I've liked Ron Paul all along and still might vote for him.

The whole "lesser of evils" concept is pretty much bunk. America is screwed no matter who wins between Obama and McCain. The only real choice is to vote your conscience with a candidate you really believe in. If it happens to be No-Bama or Mc-Lame, then so be it but the only candidates I can look at myself in the mirror after voting for are all third party.

...Who would be in charge of the government?:confused:

I'm not sure, but its pretty much moot at this point. I don't think there would be any specific person in charge. The EU still has all their own leaders, but they joined on some rules and laws I believe along with a currency.

i think ron paul if he is still running. some say he is. some say hes not. i havent looked up any offical statement. he whould get far more then nader ever did in votes. nader has pushed for a long time but seems theres not to much budging, just enough to twist the votes around. its sad that third parties have that downside to that. but you gotta start some where.

libertarians where the original republican conservatives. they split off the group when few points and idiologies changed. when the military industrial complex was created, and liberties where seen as something to work around and push to erode slowly. instead of something to uphold

..why...do we say "third party"...when it is not a "unifyed front".

if your not with the republicans or democrats. you probly share ideas with another party., but since these parties are not that major compared to the 2 other ones. they get lumped up to third party. to simply the statements into a grouping. third party is another way of saying the other parties other then democratic or republican without explaining the individual party and idiology.

the word third party will go away once another party gets enough following to compete. then we will use vote forth party :p

He's still on the ballot as far as I know. The media just pays no attention to any party other than Democans and Republicrats which is unfortunate. Maybe if we all voted third party and encouraged everyone we know to vote third party, it might make a big enough dent that next time around the media starts taking alternatives a bit more seriously. It's not like the two big parties have any good offerings so we might as well roll the dice and take a chance on Paul or Nader.

Ron Paul dropped out a while back. He'd made his point and still had a couple million dollars in his warchest, so he parlayed that into the Campaign for Liberty.. The mission statement:

To promote and defend the great American principles of individual liberty, constitutional government, sound money, free markets, and a noninterventionist foreign policy, by means of educational and political activity.

As far as third parties go, I've always voted Libertarian, but this time around, I'm less than impressed with the Libertarian candidate, Bob Barr. From what I can tell, he pays lip service to Libertarian ideals, but his past record indicates that he's just another Neocon. I was a staunch supporter of Michael Badnarik in the 2004 election, and the establishment was so scared of him, they had him arrested when he tried to participate in the debates (just for the duration of the debates, mind you).

I've decided not to vote in this election. In my view, it's pointless. Obama and McCain are practically the same ; neither are the slightest bit interested in upholding the Constitution and none of the third party candidates are saying anything of substance. I think we've all been awakened in the last couple of weeks to the fact that this country is of the banks, by the banks, and for the banks. If this newly-revised (450 page) Stickup Bailout passes the House, we'll have a privatized Treasury with vast governmental powers with absolutely no oversight. This isn't an America that I can pledge my allegiance to.

With the exception of a very few true patriots, Congress has become a bunch of bumbling frightened incompetents who simply do what the Executive Branch or Federal Reserve tell them. The President has been permitted to grant the Executive Branch unprecedented and sweeping dictatorial powers. Just because you haven't seen them all put into practice yet doesn't mean they won't be. Patriot Acts 1 and 2, the John Warner National Defense Authorization Act, PDD 51, and a host of other bills, signing statements, executive orders, and presidential directives have paved the way for the formation of a hard-core police state.

This month, we have the Army coming home to police the citizenry and quell any riots or insurrection that may occur in the wake of financial meltdown. Posse Comitatus, anyone? Anyone? Oh.

We've got Concentration Camps built and ready to go for the Army's Civilian Inmate Labor Program.

For crying out fucking loud, we have special FREE SPEECH ZONES! If we don't wake up, and do it soon, our children are going to grow up in an Orwellian nightmare.

So no, I'm not voting. There are more important things to worry about than which of the banking cartel's puppets gets to be the figurehead.
