I know what youre trying to say, and I'm finding it very short sighted.

You are seeing some sort of utopia where we breed out disease and traits we dont like. Nope. Just a world where people REGULARLY plan their pregnancies thoroughly...

You are seeing some sort of utopia where humanity can be trusted to do these things in love and trust. WOW...I wish. You have not an inkling of what I see when I look at most Humans...it is not Human...nor to polite.

You arent seeing the possibility, the inevitability of human greed. REFERENCE ABOVE REPLY.

You arent seeing the fallibility of science, how little we actually know. We know enough for when two responcable people get together we could tell them of the probabillities of this & that...correct? or have I been watching TOO MUCH Sci-fi now?

Personally? You have the right to have children with whomever you like. But a national Eugenics program? This way lies EPIC FAIL. Yeah...the point I have been working to delineate the whole time has been: it would be cool to see Humanity grow through making sound PERSONAL choices..Then we can aim for a Utopia. A world village...all that...

I have nothing against planning who YOU mate with or how you come to that decision.

We are not talking about individual choices.

We are talking about Eugenics.

Eugenics has nothing to do with individuals choosing anything. Eugenics is a breeding program to improve a species. It doesn't work on an individual basis. For it to work, it has to be on a grand scale... that means someone has to decide what type of genetic traits to breed for. That means someone else controls who YOU breed with, if you are allowed to breed at all. That means forced abortions for pregnancy's that result from unsanctioned sex. Forced sterilization of carriers of unwanted traits.

Thats takes away any implied Reproductive Right.

It could take away any Abortion Rights.

It could force someone with wanted traits but no personal need to breed... to breed "for the betterment of mankind".

Keep your Orwellian world vision. I'll have no part of it.

The prinicples of Eugenics only work as a theory when directed over a population. So when speaking of eugenics, you're talking about selective breeding over a population. It's not eugenics when youre talking about individual choices. I think we're having a misunderstanding of word usage and definition, here.

I am talkin' about simultaneously more & less than Eugenics; in your semantical interpenetration. (I do not see enough difference to deliniate them other than to make the differentiation between 'mandatory' & 'voluntary' )

I'm talkin' about an open program...that you may decide to goto...

I do not in any way, shape, or form support nor defend, required/regulated eugenics...I thought I should make that clear.

I do support people knowing their genetic backgrounds...sometimes people can be genetically predisposed to certain illnesses...in these cases, we can sidestep certain sorrows, by choosing the person we mate with...

I have several thoughts on what WE as Humans should do in order to ***

FIRST...we need to cut WAY back on "accidental" pregnancy...not when the peoples are married/partnered & don't care either way...I mean the rampant unprotected "accidents" ("" because at a certain point it is a matter of probabilities being fulfilled & I refuse to call it an accident)

SECOND...we need to KNOW things genetically... about ourselves..& our CHOSEN mates..

THIRD...we need to FIND that person we are most genetically compatible..& that we find LOVE with...

FOURTH...we need to have an excess of revenue to take care of another tribal member..

FIFTH...we NEED to LOVE WHILE we conceive a child..
