Homicidalheathen Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 CRIME DNA links man arrested for dumping girls' underwear to 1994 murder of woman in hotel Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at 08:57 EST OSAKA — Police on Wednesday charged a man already under arrest for dumping girls' underwear, with the murder of a woman in a hotel in Osaka in 1994 after his DNA matched samples taken from the hotel room. Kazuo Oshitanai, 48, a widowed father of two, was arrested earlier this month for allegedly dumping about 120 items of girls' underwear in the gardens of 38 houses near his home in Ibaraki, Osaka, between September and November. Osaka prefectural police said a DNA sample from Oshitani matched DNA found on articles left at the scene of the 1994 murder. On Jan 16, 1994, a 26-year-old woman, who had been dispatched to the Osaka Daiichi Hotel in Kita Ward, Osaka, by an adult entertainment service company, was bashed and then strangled. Her bag and purse were stolen. Security camera footage at the time showed a man matching Oshitani's description leaving with the woman's bag. Oshitani's neighbors, interviewed by TV media on Tuesday, expressed shock and said he seemed like a normal salaryman, always happy to chat with them whenever he was in his yard or garden. http://archive.japantoday.com/jp/news/423681
jynxxxedangel Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 I see a movie deal coming up for this one.. A possible Japanese serial killer, the "Floating World" skin-trade scene, the shock value of his odd fetish-- yep, this story would sell! Maybe I should get to work on a screenplay; I am very familiar with the modern "Ukiyo" in Osaka. Sadly, there is very little information on this case, and none on the suspect, over the internet.
Homicidalheathen Posted October 6, 2008 Author Posted October 6, 2008 i wanna know how his underwear fetish drew him to the tomatos? (gardens) that part was weird
Destroit Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 i wanna know how his underwear fetish drew him to the tomatos? (gardens) that part was weird I dunno, my guess...and this is GUESS, on that is maybe it has to do with the fact that gardens are generally seen as feminine and kinda pure/innocent and well...can have secrets to them too. That's my guess to the symbolism behind that. Someone in the comments for that also said that he would soil the underwear first, and also sometimes he would fit it onto bicycle seats. To me bicycles = innocence & childhood.
