Army Deployed on U.S. Soil

To an extent...but it does not explain much...

...but I have a hard time equating how having plenty of money is going to raise peoples moral standing...

..I can see it removing a bit of stress..but I don't see how it will displace enough stress to make people be civil...

It goes along with your "manimal" thread. At the core we are animals and, when our saftey or food supply is threatened, we have the instinct to fight. When people feel that being a predator is going to be better for their personal long-term survival than being civil, they turn predator.

YOU MEAN...peoples do not NOTICE when their 'fight or flight' turns on?

Fuck...REALLY...

I've noticed a lot of people on the lower rungs of society live in it. For them it's considered normal. They've just learned to fine-tune it so that law enforcement doesn't notice as much.

Either they don't know, or they see it as their only way to survive (at least as far as I've seen). What's scary is to imagine living in that mindset in a country that's supposed to be so f*ing great like the USA.

To bring this back on topic, how many of those rich people do you think will end up on the less-fun side of the Army deployment? How many of the not-so-rich? Put in those terms, I almost think that the military is gearing up to "defend" against the majority of American citizens (again, the "Haves" vs. the "Have Nots"). Damn it! Those tinfoil hat thoughts of mine were just supposed to be something to keep my mind entertained! If I ever have to say it, it'll be the worst "I told you so" moment, EVER. :(

OK, I read the article twice and somehow I am missing the part where it says "to put down a political protest". Can you please point that part out for me?

The U.S. military "is not a Swiss Army knife," ready to fight the Taliban one week, respond to a hurricane the next and put down a major political protest the third week, Healy said.

Thanks. I don't know how I missed that but I did. And I read it twice.

I kept missing it, too. I had to reread it 4 or 5 times...

I'm thinking I'm going to be moving to AZ, soon! Can't wait! I friggin' love it here! The heat doesn't bother me at all and the best part? NO SNOW!!! (S.N.O.W. - Shit  No One Wants)   Been staying in Bullhead City where the kids and grandkids live. Next, we're going to the wife's cousin's which is a ways North of Kingman, in the middle of nowhere, where we actually plan to move.   I really like Bullhead. It's a nice little town. Not overcrowded like Colorado Springs has become, at all. Very light traffic, reasonable prices on everything, low taxes, etc. The river offers a lot to do, with a lot of beaches and campgrounds all around it.   But yeah even though we've been over 110º-115º F just about every day,  I can handle it!  What I can't handle anymore, is snow and being cold. Just tired of it. Give me the desert over a blizzard any day!

Nope, we wasn't doing anything. I didn't want to go by myself.  I ended up doing karaoke here. It would of been a perfect day to go, though.
