Homicidalheathen Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 Student's cocaine suicide 'over hair dye' disaster Wednesday, September 24, 2008 Emma Rowlatt was apparently upset at a hair dye disaster A student took a fatal drug overdose because she was secretly 'hating herself' after suffering an allergic reaction to hair dye, an inquest heard. Emma Rowlatt had been treated at an intensive care unit and lost all her brown hair after she reacted badly to the dye she had bought from a high street shop. Despite her ordeal, the 20-year-old kept put on a pretence of being happy while regarding herself as a 'no-haired failure'. RELATED ITEMS Latest news bulletin Today's top news headlines In February, she took an overdose of cocaine in a junk room at her mother's pub in Beswick, Manchester, and left a note on the back of a family portrait saying: 'I am sick of being a fat no-haired failure. I love you all to pieces but I just can't live hating myself anymore. Please don't hate me. I will be happier now and so will you.' Miss Rowlatt's body remained undiscovered at the pub for two weeks because the storeroom was in a largely disused area of the pub. Her mother, Deborah Dooley, said: 'Emma and I were the best of friends. She was doing very well at school and she was a bright girl. But in the last years she had problems. 'She had used some hair dye and ended up in intensive care and she lost all her lovely hair.'
