Cool idea for a thread. This was fun to read!

I grew up on a farm, can grow food, still remember how to milk a cow and many things about animal care, food preservation. It was fun when I was a kid to be around the animals and I still love to grow things, but I always and still do hate farm life. First time I set foot in a city I swore I'd never live in the country again, and I haven't.

I'm not sure why I'm this way, but I just like my own space. I work my ass off at full time work plus several side projects just so I can have this house to myself (with my kids here only) and don't have to take in any roommates.

The truth is, though I love you folks dearly I'm way too much of a loner to live with ya

I'll come visit though and help you out with seedtime and harvest-time.

If it was really a commune I could do or figure out how to do whatever, as anything were I feel like I'm really HELPING is a nice job. Being too far removed from the positive effects of the job (aka like in the office) isn't nearly as gratifying.

I'm guessing there won't be much use for a computer repairman (but I'll bring the Geek Squad outfit anyhow)

I can be the commune massage therapist. Just bring a hug or a "hey thanks!" along with you .

If the town bitching-post isn't taken (aka the therapist) I can fill in until someone with a degree shows up.

Fairly good at weeding out the undesirables from the matchmaking pool. (a.k.a The Pick-A-Pig contest.)

Looks like the town spank-the-bad-girls job might already be taken but I'll sign up as an understudy just in case.

I also can fill in as the town politically incorrect wise-ass or crazy crank spiritual prophet as needed (One in the same job right?), I'm pretty good at either despite my straight-laced online persona. These jobs are probably ALSO taken... understudy +2.

I can make the totally pointless T-Shirts with random sayings on them such as "Frak Off!" that will be required.

I can do most any of the crummy zero-skill jobs no one else wants to do as long as the air isn't too foul. The totally lacking in glamor, thankless jobs that nevertheless must be done, really do need someone to do them. *glances at current sig*

Stormknight: Umm... you're good with medical/science? UMMM you don't see this as one of the MOST important skills? we would need someone with medical experience so most things minor could be dealt with in house (especially if Phee and Meg are going to be blowing things up). Thank GAWD we got some nurses on staff too.
