i see a huge rift in this countries socio/economic thinking pertaining to areas of demographics and i can say whole heartidly that in my opinion what would be best for this country would be a divide of the country into two. with the more social leaning and progressive thinking states in the north splitting with the conservative states in the southern sections.

my reason for thinking is neither side gets any of what it wants done, our values on a majority scale are completly backwards from one another along with our train of thought and thats the only way things seem to get done... our cultures and styles of thought are rifting now more than ever and i think it would be best for each other if we were to split and go our own ways doing the things we want without subjegating our beliefs onto the other half that does not share our views as they're are too many people on iether side that get pissed off about the way the opposite side thinks and i can see it leading to a lot of violence in the near future as people are going to be losing more of their money and more of their jobs making them more collectivly organized and more pissed off at the system than ever before and i can see them turning onto each other en masse.

Funny, Why did you pick North/South? The "Liberal" areas of the country are concentraded on the coasts and large citys. The "Conservative" areas are most rural areas and the middle states.

general area as i feel if we were too divide tha nation into half sections the best way to do it would be iether a north south border relation or a diagnol all i know is there is so close to an equal divide and so many people are split from veiws from each other on the way things are run now. but i also relize how this would also piss a lot of people off from having to move and what not but i would want kind of at least an equal drawing of where we would be at you know and i know its kind of like catering to sterotypes but the intent of the message is for the good to around with people and make policy with those you agree with right?

How about we just limit the federal government's power to protection (running the military), interstate commerce, and things that affect the country as a whole. All other power will be controlled by the states and the people's makeup and voting preferences in each state will determine if it's more liberal or more conservative.

I am thinking that in all likely hood, Obama is going to be our next President. As he is already using "Truth Squads" to enforce his image, I expect Martial Law shortly after he gets into office. I then expect him to start rounding up people who don't agree with him just like every other Socialist Cult of Personality has done in history. I am not sure if he is going to just leave the bodys in the street like Stalin did, mass graves like Mao did or burn them like Hitler.

Which is why I'm wondering why the hell anyone's voting for Obama...but hell it's all your funerals. I also have a personal belief that he is tied to the mess that's happening in the Middle East atm, so that's bad. Yet Americans can only see that he's all Hollywood and "good looking" and trying to be PC by voting for him because he's of color, so when he's president and those people are all stewing in their own shit so to speak, I guess I can say it serves them right. The sad part will be the fact that people like you and I, who saw this all coming, will be dragged down also.

How likely martial law is, I'll not comment. However, I DO think that if this country were to be put under martial law there would be civil war. That's my biggest fear... not the fear of the military but the "brother against brother" that rocked our country so badly oh-so-many years ago.

thats what happens when a bunch of cultures have to live on the same land. and racial tensions is very high. the jeramiah wright alligations. which when it reached national news, was denounced, then later on stated the sermons where out of context. we have heard the racial tensions even in obama.

of course running for president means he whould have to hide any feelings on race, as that could screw up his presidency. he has done a outstanding job of keeping it out of the publics mind.

couple a financial crisis. it whould be a nice time to chip away at any rights and freedoms (under the radar of a event like 9/11, this time it whould be financial meltdown) and being even tougher on searches, and blaming those when no evidence was presented.

There would not really be a civil war against the military, in the event of a race war. it would split the military down the middle. you have to realize that a good percentage is made up of country boys and inner city minorities.

now, any sort of republican/conservative coup would have a deal of support from the military. but I blame democrats/liberals for that. Their disdain of the military service has led to a huge portion of it being run by the Right.

For a bit of civil war hilarity, i recommend The Second Civil War, an hbo movie.

I think we are screwed either way we vote as well. But I hear all the time these politics being talked about on the CB radio mainly in the south. Alot of people down there are talking about the VPs. They say, if Obama was assassinated, Biden would be President. If/when John McCain died, Palin would be. Then they said which do you trust in the White House more for a President, and the answer most of the time lies with Biden.
