hunhee Posted October 31, 2008 Author Posted October 31, 2008 The Damed was pretty cool. It was at the Hastings Ballroom, which is in a kinda scary part of Detroit, I can't lie. When the road is more safe to walk on than the side walks (because they're not maintained) and you're wearing 4" heels, this is defo something to worry about. Now I wish I had a camera, because there were some really cool photo ops that could have happened, but without one there's plausible deniability. Burrich and I had fun looking at all the art pieces, the performance art..is well.. performance art. *shrugs* It's an excuse to get all naked and smear yourself with goo to interesting music, in front of a huge gathering of people, and they call it art. I see nothing wrong with it..hehe I have a question to Marc, do you ask all those people that you take pictures of (the candid ones) if you can take their picture? I noticed that only ONE of the photographers asked me if they could take my picture.. (I declined) the rest of them just took them. One of them at least gave me their card to check out his site later.. *shrugs* Anyway, it was a very crowded room, so I was a tad bit claustrophobic, but when Burrich told me he was ignoring them, and pretending they weren't there, it worked for me. Next year, I'll probably buy VIP tickets.. This year I have to give props to my goddess Ice Queen, she provided the tickets.. THANKS!!!!

Hunhee, I like it when they ask us but at a public event, they really don't have too.... it's just good manners to ask. Now.... when they publish a photo of you without your consent .... thats where it can lead to trouble. Legally, they need a "model consent form" signed by you to publish the photos on the net or in print... which surprises me how much that gets done around here without one.

Thank you, it was somewhat of an ego boost that people wanted to take my picture, but then again, maybe they wanted to take my picture because they thought I was frightfully grotesque..

I seriously doubt that miss! Yeah - it is a very flattering thing.... we experience that once in a while in the band.... had a lot of it in NOLA.... I could get use to it. :-)
SaGa Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 Yeap, and this year for me I know a few people who may get a flaming bag of shit on their porches . I don't call it, "ridiculous", I call it tradition. So long as you're just doing small little pranks and not letting it get out of hand, I don't necessarily see it as that big of a problem. People need to get a grip when it comes to the little things. But yeah, in Detroit it used to get real crazy there for a minute, now in the city they call it "Angel's Night" and have a volunteer squad plus police force patrolling all night. i think this year the national guard stepped in. its good this year didnt hit big with arson. with the housing market the way it is, i could see a lot of people burning homes for the insurence claim.

I welcome this because when I'm mayor, I plan on using the burnt out land to build a huge Gladiator Arena with fighting clowns and "small people" orgies! I also plan to host our annual "You could really die from this" ball there.

Too bad arson is against the law, and also not covered by insurance.
