Yet she walked free from court yesterday after Judge Peter Fox QC said the married housewife was an unhappy woman who was unable to resist the advances of a child.

'You had been a very unhappy lady for a very considerable period of time when this 14-year-old boy seduced you, and not you him, both so far as sexual matters and drugs are concerned,' he said.

The age of consent in Canada was originally 12 but in 1890, Parliament raised the age to 14 where is stood for over 100 years. On May 1, 2008, however, the Tackling Violent Crime Act took effect raising the age of consent to 16 years of age. Drinking age is still 19 though so you can't get them shitfaced until then.

back on topic. i think this is wrong. if it had been a man and a 14 year old girl he'd be doing time in a protected unit to stop the other convicts from killing/crippling/maiming the defendant (child molesters and child killers are the lowest of the low in all prisons here).

But I am pretty sure it was consensual.....So it is hard to say she should have been punished.....

It is quite a conundrum when things like this happen.....On one hand it is illegal, on the other if both people consent, what is the problem?????

I was not being taken advantage of.....I was very willing.....
