You can burn a CD and re-import to make iTunes files DRM free. Yeah... I know, pain in the ass, but still. Make sure you harass the music companies, not the distributor (ie iTunes) about removing the DRM. They're the ones who insist on having it.

I remember some of that. I dunno. Steve Jobs was on the record earlier this year as desiring to get rid of it. He would have a lot more customers without it.

I couldn't read the article from work. Now that I can see what it's about, yes I did hear about the Pro IP act. As a creative, I'm generally in favor of sound copyright protections for my work and reasonable punishments for infringement. This act, however is largely for the benefit of large corporate interests. ie music. It's overkill and stupid.
