Homicidalheathen Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 People keep talkin about improvements and bringing people back to detroit well i was down there a lot this weekend near corktown, down by dix and verner why are there all these nasty abandoned buildings yet homeless people dont have a place hell i would sneak in too it honestly in some parts looked like a war zone and that russel industrial center is spooky like a haunted cellar they need more security and some upgrades to the building if nothing else, it made me thankful i don has to live in that shit
Homicidalheathen Posted November 4, 2008 Author Posted November 4, 2008 look at the pics from my 'family outing' lol isnt that lovely? wonderful place to take the kids on the weekend
pomba gira Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 What I noticed while I was down there is all of the abandoned, falling-down houses that are STILL visible from the Davison freeway. I've been saying for years, they should make it an absolute priority to get rid of any blight that's visible from the freeways. It creates such an incredibly negative impression to people driving through. On the brighter side, it was great to see the Heidelberg Project thriving! I love the newer stuff by Tim Burke, it really adds a fresh new flavor to the Project. Go Tyree & Tim!
Azeuron Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 hey lets get some really big tarps to put over any eye sore and sell the space for advertising uses... see i'm trying to make the city money lol
SaGa Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 amazing how no effort for burned down buildings there are with the clean up job. downtown detroit is looking better, but detroit wont thrive untill something is done with the ghettos of detroit. specially those near downtown. im sure there is a way to fund this without a socialist everyone pays tax. or just tax some of that insurence money that people get when they burn down there own crappy houses to pay for the clean up job.
Enishi Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 I get creeped out sometimes when I drive by these buildings at night. I wonder what kinds of things are going on inside...
