Problem is..... a one-party government doesnt work very well. Ordinarily, I'd be happy the democrats were gaining seats. But so many..... and with a Democratic president..... any time we've been heavily one way or the other, its been bad. We need more of a balance.

the fact that the majority of the nations see us as one big welfare check for them, and prefer we have a more leftist government should WORRY the citizens of this country.

The Republicans have only themselves and the Bush presidency to thank for how pissed people are and why it's shifted back to the left so much. This is not a vote for Dems so much as against Republicans.

And Saga.. you think the constitution did well under Bush? He vastly expanded Executive powers, infringed on our rights more and reduced transparency in government.

Never before? *Ahem*

And have you forgotten that half of Bush's presidency was with a Republican held congress?

How soon we forget....

...I would RATHER see the Dem/Rep parties take a back seat about now...let the other parties get some action.

im thinking progressive. whats been done once makes it much easier. with the goverment already buying up banks that has opened the door that in this lifetime has not been seen. just as bush used terrorism as a excuse, whos to say a financial crisis wont be a bigger excuse to mess around with the system a bit. with a few freedoms taken away to accomplish this

What scares me most is the fact that two or three SCOTUS justices may retire this term meaning Obama will get to replace them with those of his choosing.

...more scary that say...Reagan appointing 3?

But everybody liked Reagan. For his reelection, he won 49 states! Everybody but Minnesota and Washington D.C. wanted him to stay in office. Obama only carried 27 states + DC. That means almost half the country doesn't like him.

Good. It's currently skewed to far right for my liking.
