Just a Raindrop

I have nothing in common

With what I desire.

I'm just cold and wet

Instead of searing with fire.

I wanted to reach new heights

But I just fall to greater depths.

My father's big disappointment

The reason my mother has wept.

My hand is outstreched for you

You laughed and would not take it.

You didn't think it hurt me much

But that's because i faked it.

Like many others before me

That you ran into the ground.

I'm one of many raindrops

In this sea of sorrow I drown.
