Ok so Ive been a wicked dumbass on not paying my credit card for ooooooh 10 months now. LONG LONG story I dont want to hear it, I know I fucked up.

BUT this woman calls me from the collections department and at first she's like wicked nice. Then the more I tell her I cant fork over 1400 tomorrow the meaner she gets. To the point of telling me that she's not one to beat around the bush and she'll tell me like it is because this is the real world and I'll have to face the truth now or later. WTF?!?!!? Oh thats not all at one point she basically tells me Ive spent my money wrong because I was able to keep a car an apartment and food on the table but not pay the credit company. WHAT?!?! So oh ok I should pay you guys and not eat. Ok so when I die from starvation where are you guys going to collect from????Hmmmm?????

So I get ahold of her supposed boss who was cool and calm and I liked him. Well apparently he didnt let her know we talked and she calls me this morning with the same attitude. I told her that I talked to Josh and he dealt with it and if she wanted to know the details she could talk to him about it. She was like what did he tell you that I didnt. I said for one he wasn't rude and was more polite then you and for two he changed a few things for me. She goes (im not joking here) "Oh so you basically dont like a woman who can tell you the truth, you'd rather someone lie to you and tell you all the nice things and give into you." WHAT?!?!?!??!?!?!?

You tell these people straight out:" I don't have your money. See you in court." I assume you have caller i.d. After a while , you get to know who a creditor is. You can't make deals with these people, they want all of their money at once. Why let a complete stranger bother you?

Well I did talk to her manager and I told him that I DO NOT want her calling me anymore. He like sighed and was like I'll talk to her. I was like I dont care I dont want her calling me anymore.

I guess Im just going to do like everyone said and send them what I can and just fucking ignore them. Not much else I can do. Im not borrowing that kind of money from someone. I have a hard enough time asking my parents for help let lone anyone else :/

Collections people are jerks. It's their job to be jerks. Companies pay them to get snotty with you because their efforts have failed. It's not like they have to worry about customer service, because you're not going to be referring friends to a collections agency. Sending your account to a collections agency is pretty much a last ditch effort from companies because even if you do pay the collection agency the full amount owed the original company only maybe gets 1/3 to 1/4 of that.

I say just don't pick up the phone if she calls, or if you do, hang up immediately, without even saying anything.

FALSE. Collection Agencies do not fall under the same catagory as telemarketers.

The National Do Not Call Registry does not work for Collection Agencies either.

Basically, if you are delinquent with a company it is their right to contact you in order to try to collect.

The only thing you might be able to do to get them to stop calling you is to mail them a cease & decist request with your name & account info & whatnot on it.

Also, if they're not threatening you with violence, using obscenities, or lying to you then they are within their rights.

I have been harangued by collections people in the past. (Try living on $600/mo in the winter.) I just tell them that I NEVER pay via a collections agency. I will contact the company I owe directly when I have the funds. I say this every time that they call. And if I receive a collections call at work for a co-worker, I take the information and then say "This person does not have a direct line and it is company policy to discourage personal calls. Please remove this number from your list. I will be certain to pass your phone message to [person's name] this time, but in the future, we will not take your calls." Weirdly, it's always worked.

I love how these agencies think that the average person HAS someone to borrow from in the first place. Do they not see that the economy sucks major dick?? Not that it's their problem. They have a job to do, and this is what they get paid to do. Like it or not, it is what it is. Pay them, ignore them, or file for bankruptcy...

Correct. I could find you the title and statue of this law but it would take me time and I just have so many people former customers up my ass and throwing cash at me asking me to do stuff but I tell them that I am not in any position to make financial or technical decisions anymore because of a literal mental breakdown.
