Well, for me one would be too many. For others, as long as they can afford all their children and aren't asking for handouts, then whatever works for them. I find it hard to believe that two people can adequately parent more than 6 children, though.

Once you have that many, the older ones pretty much raise the younger ones.

One would be too many for me, too. For other folks, I figure people should have as many as they can (a) take care of without the state having to chip in; (b) actually enjoy. So for a lot of people that would be "none", 'cos I run into a lot of parents who very obviously don't enjoy being parents.

That said, there is something highly creepy about these fertility drug-induced litters you get nowadays. Six or eight offspring at a crack is for rodents, not humans.

Around here I grew up with kids who came from families of 10-14. I personally only want 2-3 if that.

You can never have to many as long as you can afford all of them, stay sane, and not kill your wife by sending her through hell labor to many times. I hear after 3 its not to bad anymore though. I love children, I hope to get married and have 4 or 5 someday.

i have 5 children! 4 boys and 1 girl.. ages 14, , 6, 4, and 2!

I love them all.. i was the oldest of 7, so i always wanted a big family!
