If I have an E-ticket for a flight, do I need to print it out, or just have the number to put into the little machine?

it's been 3 years since I've flown

I think you print it out. Did a confirmation or e-ticket come by e-mail?

yeah, a confirmation came by e-mail

I just took my confirmation and was able to punch in the number on the touch screen thing

Hey,I never said I was travel savvy, but I did do the e-ticket thing when I went to Tampa this summer

I always print it out to have the information handy. You never know how crazy things are going to be at the airport around the holidays.

i have always printed mine out and brought them with me... but when i went to check in with luggage, they didn't actually need it.

not sure how the little diy kiosks work, though, and it might be easier to do that if you're not checking luggage.

I didn't have a printer until a few months ago, so I had always just written out the confirmation and ticket numbers and brought them with me, but the last several times I've flown they just asked for my driver's license when they checked in my luggage and that was it.

Just write the confirmation number down. Actually, I just texted it to myself. :) Have a safe trip!

But some airlines have that need barcode that you just scan to check your luggage and get your boarding pass printed out in a jiffy. That way you can stand in line for the computer-aided check-in only and not deal with the overstressed airport people. I prefer the people on a low traffic day, but it's the Christmas holiday: it's madness.

Now I will know what to do for my airline tickets when I go to Portland, OR! YAY!!! :D

Good call. I didn't think about baggage, because I always make it in a carryon. No Matter What. :)

How would you fit all those lovely curves in a carry-on? Really, you should try buying a ticket. It's much more comfortable in coach.

yes print it out, or you have to get to airport even earlier if you do it there...check-in online, saves time, you do that 24 hours before your trip
