Considering to dye my hair black

I'm naturally blonde. My hair always changes with the season. Winter darker, summer lighter. I've had the beach bum look all my life and I'm contemplating going black granted I have steel blue eyes, and I've been told on a number of occasions that blue eyes + black hair looks good depending on the person. Plus ppl have told me to do it I just don't have the wilpower. So should I make the transition? :confused

Only if you're willing to keep it for a while. Black is a bitch to remove. I've been every color (and I mean EVERY color). Black is tough, and to remove it, you would have to bleach it more than once. I'm actually getting ready to go back to black hair. I like it the most on me.

Thats what keeping me from doing it. I heard the horror stories of how hard it is to remove without using bleach..meh I'm always up to try new things.

If you like wearing it short it's not too bad since you can grow it out rather quickly. I saw someone do black tips on short blonde hair and it actually looked pretty cool. She spiked it and it looked really weird (but good weird, heh).

If it's long and you want to keep the length, what Brenda said, be sure you want to keep it for a long while because there's always going to be some damage in removal (if you can even get it all out) and it always shows more on long hair because the ends are "older" hair that is drier and more prone to damage.

With that said though, black hair and blue eyes are really awesome together.

It's true that black hair with blue eyes looks hot. When my hair is black and I wear my sapphire blue contacts, I get a lot of compliments. It just feels good!

The thing about black hair is that the few I've seen have been of poor quality and all too common in the goth scene. Go with something else.

I disagree. You can color your hair black, and it can look really good. I recommend that you do it gradually, unless you want it to turn blue or green. Use a semi-permanent color, so your hair won't be damaged so easily. I spent over 20 years in salons, and I've seen it done many times.

I too am a natural blonde and the black is kinda hard to keep. First you have to die the whole head with black with a blue base. After it takes then you have to refresh your color mid month sometimes with a semi permanent deposit only color to keep the deep black. Your roots will look as funny growing out as a blondes do when its really black naturally. You will have blonde regrowth it looks wierd. I have blue streaks so ontop of all of this there is bleaching and blue to be put in every other month and refreshing the blue separately is a big pain in the butt. Now I might want to go red and the stripping is going to kill my hair. Think twice.
