Ok, so I found your board through some of friends of mine in Detroit.

Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Darren Bousman. I just finished a movie called REPO THE GENETIC OPERA. Hopefully you have heard of it. However I am sure the majority of you have not.

But I am hoping you will take a look at it.

Regardless, I am coming to Michigan for a ONE NIGHT ONLY screening of REPO, with some of the cast. Actually we are going to Jackson. We will be there on the 22nd.

We don't have a lot of support from the studio. So everything is pretty grass roots. Hence - me coming onto the boards and informing you about it.

Give the film a chance... And come meet BILL MOSELEY!

Thanks all,

I think we actually have a thread on "Repo" around here somewhere. I'm also on a newgroup for Atlanta and they've been plugging the show like crazy so I've heard all about it. Pretty good write up on wikipedia too.

Welcome to DetroitGothic and thanks for stopping by!

Definitely lots of us have heard of it. Several threads here over the last year or so and lots of us looking forward to seeing it. I would love to meet some of the cast too.

Thank you so much guys...

We are have a really hard time getting the movie out there, and getting promotion for it.

I can tell you - I will be there, as well TERRANCE ZDUINICH, and the ever so amazing BILL MOSELEY.

But we don't have a team of people helping us.

Please come check the movie out on the the 22nd!

You can preorder tickets through

!!! Wow!!!!!!

It was everything I thought it was going to be and more! I dragged my boyfriend and another guy friend of mine (they thought "a whole movie..singing?!? Pssht, laaaame") out TWO HOURS to Grand Rapids just to see it and let me tell you: we all loved it!!!

I was already geeked for it to begin with, I heard of the movie on Litany.net because I'm a fanatic for Ogre and have been for about 8 years now since I was 15, so I originally wanted to see it sheerly because he had a part. As time went along, seeing previews and released clips of the movie made me interested in the flick itself because it seemed so well done and original, not to mention gothy .

We're going to try and make it out to see it again, money permitting, and we'll be bringing two other people who haven't seen it yet. Thanks to you and the whole Repo team to not only put together such an amazing film, but also all the time you've had to spend fighting to promote the hell out of the movie, even though it seems Lionsgate already had it out for not giving it a chance because it's not your average cookie-cutter movie like a good amount of them are now. Good job on proving them wrong :).

wasn't this a "rock opera" kind of thing? i think i just read an article on it a couple days ago... sounded interesting as hell, albeit a bit odd.

really cool to have you here, and i'm glad to see that some people have already seen it! i hope you stick around a bit & share some of your experiences with us!!

Anyone need a ride/ticket? I have an extra ticket and space in the car. You'd have to pay for the ticket but the ride is free, if you can get to my place (Farmington) or Westland or anywhere on the way where I can pick you up. No time to go far our of the way to get people tho.

Come on you know you wanna go!

Hey Darren thank you so much for coming out last night! It was wonderful! Absolutely wonderful. I really enjoyed all your stories, especially the Sarah Brightman and Paris stories... awwww.. Your love for your fellow artists is really clear and heartwarming!

I'm already waiting for Road Tour 4 to come to DETROIT so please please make it happen!! We want to see you again!!

(BTW guys I totally just made that up in hopeful thinking so don't misunderstand and think he said something like that...but we all would love it, wouldn't we????)

I have to go out asap and buy the DVD and soundtrack! We were all sad you didn't have them for sale there...we were all set to buy our copies!

BTW...I was so flattered that you wanted to take a picture of me/with me. :blushing: I was the gothic lolita girl in the black dress and hat. (I wonder if you remember...haha well the evidence should be on your camera!) Thank you so much!! :happydance:heart::happydance:heart::happydance

This was my first time seeing Repo in full as opposed to short bits here and there, and it was much better even than I expected (and my expectations were far from low - I don't drive 4 hours if I don't expect it to be awesome!)! Great great job! Thank you so much for making such an incredible piece of art for us all to love!

I've got some connections with some theaters. Well actually my friends over at Nightmare Sinema do but I'm sure they'll hook him up no problem if he wants.

Are there any hearses in the movie? It seems like that should be the car to repo organs with :D Either way I'll show up in my hearse and park in a nice visible location at no charge (and maybe talk the rest of the club into it too).

I missed the Jackson screening, but a friend of mine had just gotten it, brought the DVD over and a small group watched at my house.

Everyone really enjoyed it. Very well done.

It really is a piece of art.

and a Detroit stop would be awesome. Anything we could do to help make it happen?

Looks like Scary Guy could help with a theater. *points to post above*

You should join the hearse club then. Also if you're going to buy NOW is the time. They're going for pennies these days all over the US because of the economy. I just got my new one for 1500.

There are tons of resources online to get them, none of which I can list because they're other forums.
