I just got back from having my butterflies around my wrist colored in. Gawd, it stings! It's beautiful, bit it's on fire. And this is the first time I've ever had anything done on a bone. Sumbiotch, did that sting! As soon as it quits being so red, I'll take a pic of it. It really is beautiful!

Yeow is why I'll never get a tattoo on any spot near a bone. You are one brave girl.

you are lucky actually, listen to this: I am allergic to tattoo ink, so i only have two. Yeah. -My first one took 2 or 3 months to heal and it would like puss through my shirt-gross. -But, i thought maybe it was a fluke, like maybe the artist fucked up or something...nope, my second one did that too. I haven't had a tatto since about 1996. Suck, Ehh?

Wow, PH. I think I'd cry.

Tell me. I'm too blinded by pain to think.

-The one about the guy with no socks or something like that-like i was pissed about not having shoes until some fucker came along without socks-

or something?

when you get a tattoo on your wrist, do you have to have a cerrtain skin type to do that?

Mine is really transparent, and you can see my veins very clearly. I want to get a spider (like the spider on spidermans chest) on my wrist, but i'm afraid the tattoo needle would puncture them or that bit of cartilage that runs right down the middle of my forearm towards the wrist.

How far do the tattoo needles go in, anyways?

Not that I know of. You have the same amount of layers of skin all over. You shouldn't have a problem.

Dammit, this still stings. No wonder I don't want to sleep yet....

yeah I got my tattoos on the underside of each forearm so I got to experience exquisite pain on my wrists and towards the inside of my elbows, yeah that shit hurt, especially when he was coloring in down around my wrist.

I understand the allergic to tattoo ink thing.. I've kinda got an issue with my tatts scabbing up really bad.. They've all done it even if I wash them a lot and keep up on the lotion. I got my other arm done last Tuesday, my friend got his tattoo last Saturday, his is practically healed and mine is gettin' there.. Once it fully heals I'll post pics, I designed these ones myself, as well.. I want all my tattoos to be of my own design, not just something out of a tattoo artist's book.

I had a reaction to the red ink in my 8th tatt... it took over a year to resolve. The ink was seeping out of my skin for the first month or so... then the skin kept peeling & all this keloid piled up under the skin ... did all kinds of weird shyt before it finally settled down. Still has an odd shiny scar tissue look & texture to it.

This kind of thing happens way more than you'd think... The studio owner told me the inks are not regulated by the FDA so there's no way of knowing what's in them. I had no idea- you kind of assume that any substance that's put into the body has some kind of regulation around it. 'tain't so!

There are 3 main layers to your skin. When people get tattoos, the tattoo needles go through the epidermis and inject the ink into the dermis - so the first 2 to answer your question. I actually DO have a tattoo of a spider on the inner side of my wrist/forearm. I got mine done when I was 18 and it was my first. Talk about not a good place for your first tattoo. The only time it really bothered me was when it got closer to the wrist area. The 2nd tattoo I got on my shoulder and that didn't hurt at all compaired to the first. It just comes down to where you want it to be. :wink
